Um yea, did 3 canes hit the orlando area. I think putting peoples roofs on is more important than a silly pool.

Quote You must live near the coast not to care. I unfortunately don't, so if the waves are good as they are advertising then I'm all for them to bring the coast to me. I'm only about 10 minutes away. ------------------------- I'm not fat, I'm well fed. I'm not bald, I'm hair challenged. (actually I am bald now!) |

ToFatToSurf,
I think he meant for the time being...It is a higher priority for someone to have a roof, then for a wavepool to come (if it comes within the next 2 years, and we would be lucky). |

The big friggen deal?
The big friggen deal is that orlando is going to have better waves than the coast. I know I'll hit it up. |

Nope they have not broken ground.
I'm not bashing anyone. We all have reasons we can't live on the coast. Surfing has become like Pot to me lately, I jones for it. And no I don't smoke pot anymore. ------------------------- I'm not fat, I'm well fed. I'm not bald, I'm hair challenged. (actually I am bald now!) |

Quote and long lines like disney world to go with it. I guess i'd rather spend my money to travel and get good waves rather than go to a theme park to wait in line for one ------------------------- If you want to hit a home run, you have to swing the bat. |

Purefunk....Maybe you should do your research before you post.....
If you have a membership (which over 2,000 people have been confirmed) then all you need to do is call and reserve yourself a session (similiar to reserving a tee time at a country club). (The following is copied and pasted from their website) Each Surf Session will have a maximum of 36 people. The 36 will be grouped by ability/wave preference in six groups of six. In the Big Pool there is a "Liquid Lounge" waiting area (with video monitors for viewing previous waves) on the side of the pool, with a gate that leads into the take-off zone of the Surf Pool. During a lull (15-30 seconds) in the wave action, the gate opens and a group of six surfers paddle into the lineup. Waves are generated in sets of six, so each person in the group gets one wave in a predetermined order. Surfers least likely to wipe out go first, to prevent potential tangles. Each wave comes in nine-second intervals, similar to the ocean on a typical head-high day. When surfers finish the ride, they paddle back to the Liquid Lounge in a current-assisted return channel that runs along the outside of the Surf Pool. After the set, there is a lull in wave action, the entry gate opens again, a new group of six paddles in, and the process repeats itself. For groups smaller than 36, we would spread out the wave interval and/or run less than 6 waves per set. You will wait no more than 6 minutes between each of your waves in a full capacity session (36 people). We can produce up to 6 waves per minute, so with 36 people, it takes 6 minutes to cycle through everyone. I've been on many surf trips and waiting 6 mins between waves (that break in the same place, with the same form and power everytime) is not a bad deal.......Besides, when this thing is done a year from now and I can reserve my 2 hour session almost any time of the day thats convenient to me......then we'll see who's whining........ |

costabound looks like jaime sold u ,Ive been in contact with him for over 4 yrs ,theyve been saying same thing for 4 yrs .Working on Financing breaking ground in couple months blah blah blah. And for the membership thing that sign up thing was for some sales people to start blowing up your phone when they get clos to reserve your real membership, remember nothing is gaurnteed till u put up 2,000 or however much it is.And to top it off why would anyone speand 2,000 to surf???What kinda feeling are u gonna have when u go surf alday at wavepool instead of at a real ocean.

Aloha....Have you ever seen Step Into Liquid...? They talk about the "stoke" a surfer gets while surfing and to me thats what its all about..........it doesn't necessarily take a day at the beach to get the "stoke".
I would definitely take a day at the beach surfing over a wave pool.....but we haven't had much of a chance to do that lately. I just get excited at the thought of having a wave pool as an alternative to the beach when we go through flat spells.......Heck, even Typhoon Lagoon is fun if you're jonesing hard enough...... |
