Sizes vary among brands. As a chubby 5'8, I do well with Hurley (when they were Nike), Feral (they showed up at the Fla. Surf Film Festival), Volte (done and gone?), Hotline (would never have heard of them but for Cleanline), O'Neill and DaKine (non-zip entry. Go figure).
There's problematic fits with Rip Curl (an excellent 4 mm F Bomb but I have an impossible time with the fur lining, even wearing slippery knee socks), Hyperflex (chest entry just does not work, though a Hyperflex Greenprene 3/2 fits fine), and one very high quality Hurley that's smaller than their regular sizing. I think it might be good for someone about 5'9 and 180 or a bit lower. (A 4/3 Hurley Advantage from Nike days fits well but Feral and O'Neill backzips get the water time). A fairly cheap Quiksilver Syncro Plus should fit me (chart says 5'11 to 6'1, 185-205 lbs, 42-44 chest, 16.5" neck), inseam 29.5-30.5)...but trying to get it on, frustrating.
p.m. I can show up with selected goods. Will predictably be at Heathcote Botanical Gardens Friday and Saturday afternoons, prepping the Garden of Lights.

You have O'Neill xls back zips....what models?
My quiksilver synchro runs small, good results with hyperflex. Love the anti-flush on those
I'm considering a xxls dakine for after hip surgery. Which one did you try?

I can bring over a couple of XXLS DaKines for you to try on. I'm not fond of the furry lining on the expensive ones, but the fit is good and the no-zip entry is reasonably easy to get into, more so than many zips. Backzip 2 mm DaKine Quantums are slippery-inside low-cost marvels. I have XXLS back zip O'Neill Heat, seem kind of klutzy, but really easy to get on and off, 4/3 effective for 60ยบ southern California. A 3/2 is somewhat not-so-needed due to a really good alternative in the closet.

What suits are the 2mm dakines? How does oneill heat compare to epic model?
I can't deal with the chest and zipperless suits.
Prices?

The DaKines are keepers, a reason to shed some others. Mostly the same with back zip, but in 3/2 I have an extremely good backzip thanks to a promotion from 7tiil8, a decent-fitting Feral, and a couple of chest zips, so can drop backzip O'Neill. The Heat is an "old" model but toward their upper end, $380 vs $220 for 3/2 currently. DaKine periodically offers 15% or more off (recent big sale was 25%) so their 2mm backzips (priced at $130 and 200) can be decent deals, and seem to be regularly available in xxls.

How much for the heat?

The need is to slim the closet. The humane way is to find anyone willing to adopt chest zips, or a recommendation for a thrift shop. Any in NSB? Brevard beaches?
While the 4/3 O'Neill Heat has been useful and the 3/3 should be, they've both been overtaken by excellent alternatives, so I think about $100 each might be good.
BTW, I have broad shoulders and rotator cuff reconstruction for both, so shoulder issues are real. Can't comment on hip surgeries, but replacements seem to go surprisingly smoothly.

4/3 and 3/2 both lightly used (tags missing from 3/2 so I must have used it). Last season, liked a lightweight Volte that purports to be a 3/2 but could pass for a 2/2. I'm in Vero Beach.

Volte looks back in business in Australia. Their US website has been poached. The website explains their quality lines:Vital is cheap, premium middle. My much-loved 3/2 backzip is a Supreme. I tore its neck last year and did a bad repair, should have that redone, or do it myself--there's a patch on hand.
First one is the 4/3, incorrectly labeled 3/2 on the store price tag. Perhaps I got a bigger bargain than I thought?
    The 4/3 again
2/2 short sleeve. Chest zip, been gently used.

Kind of loaded with 3/2. I want to make use of a top notch 3/2 back zip and a couple of others, so most is divestable:
3/2 mm Volte xls (the one with the bad neck that will be irritating, could use pro repair, I use it as if it were a 2/2. Amazingly lightweight. Do the Australians rate wetties differently to Californians?)
Hyperflex Greenprene. xls Very good fit.??3 mm long sleeve. I'm a little bit suspicious of how warm it is.
    3/2mm long sleeve, back zip O'Neill 2xls
3/2.5 chest zip Patagonia R1 xls Fits OK but it comes in behind two others
An oddity: Matuse Scipio, about a decade old and not much used, ever. Methinks it's too thick, too stiff, and not quite big enough, so it's been on the recycle pile xls
.
Another recycle, also aging and on the recycle pile. The rubber as a whole seems in fine shape but the seam sealer rubbery stuff has failed and it was shedding bits of stuff like a dog. Someone with the skill and patience might like it. Quiksilver, Fuseflex, chest entry (with a bright yellow zipper) 4.5/4/3. xls.

What model is 3/2mm oneill xxls backzip? What model is hyperflex 3/2?
You are recycling suits? I do wetsuit repairs and can always use neoprene, im going to install rear zip flushguards in some suits.

O'Neill xxls are Heat. Mine is probably pretty current, though their website claims a new zipper and upgraded neoprene.
The Hyperflex Greenprene (I think I stumbled over the name) is a non-rubber alternative to neoprene, helpful to those who have neoprene allergies. It's worth considering by those who don't have allergies.
That older Quiksilver probably just needs for the bad rubbery stuff to be picked off the seams and replaced with new seam goo. But it would be good material for repairs, and I have a couple of disliked short sleeve/sleeveless shorties (one a Matuse Hoplite of all things) that would be good material. Someone would likely fit that Matuse, maybe a L type person?

Tried a DaKine 2mm XXLS short sleeve this morning. Super easy on and off, in the water, I think a bit too big. But certainly OK for quick daily swim/board.

Sorry to be late noticing. I'm having an eye infection, treated with frequent antibiotic eye drops.
I'll be busy in Ft Pierce afternoon & evening this Thurs and Friday and next.
