Been looking at a Ford Edge ST. I tcomes with a 6 cylinder for towing. Lot's of power. Comfortable.
Big enough to carry stuff, but not too big.

Anyone have any feed back? Ever own one?

Sandi - we've got one at work. Nothing special, I like the little jeep Cherokees we have better. I saw you said towing, my 2cents, Edge is small, light, and only has 3500 lbs capacity. Ok for a small or medium boat to the ramp and back, not so much for a medium travel trailer on the highway. I'd rethink if the travel trailer is in the equation. Have fun!

Yes, I have 5 days of batttery back up. Possibly a bit more, if I conserve energy.
However, Solar Panels create some energy on cloudy days, and as soon as the sun comes out, my batteries recharge and I have full power.

Was curious about how much storage you'd need for typical home AC so, um, did the math. A 1.5 ton unit uses about 1.2kWh. Figure it runs 1/3 of the time, 8 hrs in a 24 hr day (it's a hurricane, cloudy and rainy remember), so about 10kWh total. The stackable Tesla Powerwall has about 14kWh available, so about one Powerwall/day? Stack of 5? My assumptions provided, YMMV.

The smallest unit I've seen in ANY of my friends houses is a 2.5 ton AC unit. Most have 3 or 3.5 ton and a few have two units at 3 ton and 4 ton (lots of sq feet and separate quarters upstairs and downstairs.
