I have friend who's really good long time musician friend was also an anti-vaxer. Manager of Ichabods. *Poof* dead of covid (prob delta variant back in August) within 8 days of getting it. Rolling the dice anti-vaxers! This latest omicron isn't as bad but still knocks you out for a few days and some two weeks. I got the booster a week before christmas and everyone around me got sick. I didn't. I'm probably the asymptomatic super spreader but I warn people all the time to please get vaccinated. Stupid not to. I never heard where he announced or alluded to his own vax status, only publicly stating his stance on the mandatory aspect of it.

He's chosen not to have the vaccine injected in his body. I've had it injected in my body. It's called, "Freedom." Both of us are going to have to deal with the repercussions of our decisions.

Well exactly. In Kelly's case, not surfing in Australian events appears to be the repercussion of his decision. Australia is a sovereign nation with its own rules and Kelly made the choice for himself to not comply. My problem isn't with the decision he made for himself, my problem is with him complaining about it and denigrating them because he is mad that his decision has consequences.

It is pretty easy, Australia has their own rules. You either play by them or accept the results of not doing so. Kelly is a grown ass man that made a choice for himself and I respect that. However, as a grown ass man, he has to deal with the consequences of his decisions.

I don't care personally if you're vaxxed. but the people in our government are making rules "for the People" And "The People" are better off if everyone is vaxxed. Government should be allowed to set the policies when on government property or receiving a government-subsidized service.

The gray areas start to show cracks, for example, when you call 911 and expect an ambulance crew to treat and transport you.

Private medical insurers should be allowed to add a high-risk surcharge for non-vaccinated status (fine-grained: based on previous exposure, antibody status, number of shots & boosters), as well as many other good-faith, controllable health factors (like smoking).




I would add to that: If we're going all-out in the US-of-A on mandatory vaccinations, it's not unreasonable for us to expect illegal immigrants to have proof of positive immunization status.
