Obviously, he's been breathing exhaust fumes from his untuned car.

And his boat, well unless he's using a sail or is rowing, his motor is leaving oil on the water.

I wonder how soon Electric Boats will be available. They could recharge with solar panels, whenever the sun is out. That's probably coming soon. No more stopping at the Marina for over priced gas...

The times, they are a changin'

There already are a bunch of really great boats powered by electric drives.
But, they are usually charged by a diesel generator.
The new Columbia Class boats will be electric drive with a nuc reactor gen-set.

For the rest of us, it is only a matter of time before decent electric outboards become available.
right now there are a few electric outboards and Yamaha is working on a better system, but most of these are specialty drives for thrusters, low speeds, or waters where no internal combustion engines are allowed.

There's been boats that don't pollute and build up your cardio. Not to mention foam planks covered in glass.
