I see Texas as 2, Ohio State takes 5, Oregon takes 10, Alabama 9, FSU 8, Alabama without Saban 7, Notre Dame, the perennial paper tiger, 13, Ole Miss 4, Michigan without Harbaugh, 12, Penn State 14, and as I do this, I am having a very easy time removing teams for top ten spots and having a very hard time replacing them with teams worthy of the number.

Wouldn't that be something if Old Piss takes the SEC and Lame Kiffen is the new premier coach in the SEC.
Ole Miss has been stockpiling (i.e. buying) the best players and are loaded. I'd like to see them take it. Somebody different. Tired of Gawja and Bamer.

Since i'm a hardcore UCF fan I'm more familiar with the Big12 teams as I've watched just about every summer media interview and read every article on the upcoming season.

Utah is going to be very good and can run the table. DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE. Plus, Cam Rising at qb. If Cam gets injured forget-about-it as Utah has no proven Qb backup.

Arizona is suppose to be very good also. But, their head coach left to go to Washington this season. Losing a head coach is never a good thing. But, the many players stayed. Qb & Rb.

Both Utah and Zona have to visit UCF this season if they want to win the conference.

Okie-State is probably going to win the conference. They return everyone from last year's appearance in the Big12 Champ game losing to Texas.

Kansas & K-State also are really good with Qb greats.

West Virginia a dark horse, they went 9-4 last year.

UCF is vastly improved. Upgrades at Linebacker and Qb1, Cornerbacks from the portal. Great and favorable schedule. Gus Malzhan claims to be coaching with a chip on his shoulder this season (stop me if you heard that one before). but, Gus wins press conferences and he has me won over we are winning the Big12 this season. (knock on wood).

Big Picture, no Saban, no Harbaugh....Georgia probably runs the table. Look how low Washington is. Geezus krist they are always overlooked. Maybe the new Big10 conference is too tough for the Oregons and Washingtons of the world. We will find out soon enough. Interesting UCF to Oklahoma to Oregon, Dillon Gabriel is Qb for the ducks. Should be interesting.

Olympics was a fun two week distraction but onto football season starting soon. NFL as well.

Yes, I'm excited for the season. As a Cane fan its been a very tough off season. Last 2 years have been way below expectations. But its like foot prints on the beach, the tide comes in and makes it new again.

So far I got tix for the following games:

Canes v. @ Crocs
Canes v. @ Bulls ( USF)
Canes v. @ U Cal Bears ( in Berkley)
Canes v. FSU

Drop FSU to 20-25 (they were over ranked to begin with), Bring Georgia Tech up to around the same. Both those teams were evenly matched. FSU will improve from this, Georgia Tech is already a strong team. GaTech has a difficult schedule this season. They probably going to lose a few. FSU probably goes undefeated here on out. just guessing and speculating.

Thursday Night, Aug 29th, is UCF first game against a cupcake. I'm going just due to got season tix and live football is more fun in person than on TV. Plus, got nothing else to do on that Thursday night.

I can see if UCF goes 3-0 and beats TCU in Ft.Worth Texas in the first conference game, and many teams overranked, UCF will slide into bottom of top 25. KNOCK ON WOOD.

YEA for Football Season kicking off!

12 team playoff changes everything this year! Win the conference and in. If UCF by the grace-of-the-football-gawds pull off the miracle and win the Big12 conference then guaranteed a first round bye. Key game is UTAH @UCF for Black Friday. Still some tickets available for that. Just forecasting that if both teams are doing well and undefeated circle that as game of the UCF history!

I think FSU loses every game this year, same a UF until their shared last game. Then I don't know who will win.

I think that The U was out played by Va Tech. I think that The U is not as good as their 5&0 record and Va Tech is not as bad as their 2&3 record. I think that The U got VERY lucky on a couple of fluke plays that went their way. I think that there was not "indisputable" evidence, on the replays that I saw, to overturn the call on the field and I was shocked that it was.

I am both a graduate of The U and was a Golden Canes level booster for 25+ years.

Colorado 48 UCF 21. They killed us. UCF had more rushing and passing yards but 4 turnovers.

Travis Hunter...wowsa, he is the real deal. Sheuder Sanders is a great Qb. I'm a believer after seeing them in person.

I wasn't planning on shooting video but ended up as we were timed on walking/marching to the stadium and followed the UCF Marching Knights. Long vid, so fast forward thru it if not interesting in Marching Bands. We had a great time...however...losing sux. On to the next smackdown and into the swamp to become Gator Bait.

I think Miami got away with one.
jb

I went to my first cane game in 1959. went to the school. (I did not graduate from the U, went to FIU for the degree)

I don't know how many Canes games I have seen in my life. so far this year I have been to FLA. and USF game. I'm heading to Cali today. I will be there for FSU.

I have never seen a game like that VT game. Wild and crazy shit.

I do not understand how football is refereed at any level. 7 people on the field, I don't know how many others roaming around, plus the replay.

Why can't they get it right.

I have seen every angle of that last play replayed. There is no way that was a catch.

The VT coach got away with lots of stupidity. His clock management starting at 53 seconds was stupid. They had 2 of the same number players on the field.

The Canes made amazing plays: Restrepo catching the ball on his back, Ward dodging 3 tackles, shovels the ball to Williams, Arroyo runs down an interception from 80 yards away.

It's a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll.

All wins dont look the same. Hope this one builds on that grit and determination.

Has Billy Napier finally gotten it together? They've looked much better in the past two games. He still needs an offensive coordinator, though. His hard head still may be his undoing.

Why? The way you win is to outscore the opponent. Seems like we are able to do that.
7 times so far.

Choppers this week. Got some score to settle there. Joe Robbie going to be rockin!!

That was then , this is now. Cam Ward is different. Trust me, I've been to 3 games so far.

If its close in the 4th QTR, dude has a different level.

Being great in the ACC, and yes he's great, is a little different as you play SEC teams like Georgia and Bama. You can win games in the ACC if you outscore everyone even if you let them get 40 points as you pass 50. I don't think that will work once you get to the semifinals. A good example of this was years ago when Notre Dame did the same thing and met Bama in the championship game. They were crushed. Ward is a true talent for sure and he might avoid being held scoreless but he's not a team and his team has some real deficiencies on D.

Little early for me to think about " PLAYOFFS..."

I'm kind of in shock still at 7-0. Mario in year 3 seems to work (least it did for him at FIU and Oregon)

In general, the state of college football is so different. Ward just signed a large deal with Adidas. In the past you would have got the death penalty for that.

NIL, transfer portal, no LOI. Miami will have over 50 recruits at the game this weekend.

Hell, its been so long since we had swag. I still cant get over some fucking clown zebra throwing a flag way after the play was done and we were stampeding the field.

Who have the Canes played? A few mid teams. Louisville is the only decent team and they have lost to ND and SMU. WHEN they play a real team we'll see how much a defense matters. Would love to see ANY Florida team in it but not seeing them go very far after they run the table.

the first CFP poll comes out next Tuesday Nov 5th.

It will be interesting on how they see it. There are two Big 12 undefeated teams that probably (debatable) has played harder teams to this point than Miami, #9 BYU and #11 Iowa State. After watching both those teams beat UCF the past two weeks I would say BYU is the better team. They on fire. Will be interesting going down the stretch.

Also, what about Pitt? They still undefeated and in same conference as Miami. They have to travel to Dallas and play SMU. SMU has been playing great. They the dark horse ACC team. I think they beat Pitt.

In UCF news, they fired the Defensive Coordinator, Tedd Roof, this morning.

Its great to be a Miami Hurricane.

I was there and Hard Rock was packed with Canes fans. Choppers started to chop and were buzzed out. It was rockin.

We can only play the schedule. Many more games to come.

Right now, feelin pretty darn good. Course, its a Canes thing, you wouldn't understand.

I went to the Canes game. Ward can score at will it seems and it doesnt matter if they are down and time is short. He's a talent for sure but I couldn't escape the comparison that UM is this year's FSU from last year.

Thats some good perception, right there. Could be. Yea, not losing is good. If Ward got hurt, I think that's the end of the ride.

However, the U is on the rise: No way the U will be one for the season next year, like FSwho is this year.

FSU has a big problem> Norval. 60million? What is the lesson learned? Never hire a coach who is represented by Jimmy Sexton.

The Canes are back! NOT. Georgia Tech beat UCF in last season's bowl game just like they beat the Canes. With smart disclipined football.

Bummer for Miami fans. SMU now looks like the top team in the ACC.

That was the game that I had been fearing by The U.
That was The U defense that I was afraid would bite us in the ass.
Having to continually came from behind is not a season long winning strategy.

They are going to have to win out now, to even have a hope of a spot in the 12.

Smart, disciplined? Lol. When you can run for 271 on jet sweeps and run up the middle and stop a offensive team it doesnt take a hell of alot of smarts. Whats the Knights record in the big 12?? 10 -13? They are 4-6 and about to be 4-8 when they lose to West Virgina and Utah. They have lost 6 out of last 7 games. They suck! I would move on to basketball. I hear they are going to be phenomenal this year!

Who is hiding? Can't you see I've been updating this thread all season? Get over yourself.

Yes, smart and disciplined.

Why you attack UCF on this is beyond me. Nowhere have I said UCF is playing good. Should have watched last night's loss to Arizona State. UCF fell apart and beat themselves. It was an ugly loss.

And for the record UCF lost 5 games in a row, then won one, and then lost again last night. Gotta win the final two to become bowl eligible, however, UCF sucks. We got the talent but coaching and undiscplipined mistakes are killing us.
also, not have a good qb.

I watched the Miami vs GaTech game yesterday and I'll stick to what I said that Gatech beat the canes just like they beat UCF 10 months ago in the bowl game. Smart and disclipined football. That's Brent Key football who is a spawn off of Ole' George O'leary. Brent at one time was suppose to be the coach in waiting at UCF, but that didn't happen.

Have fun guys with all your rants. I'm here for you. BYU beat UTAH late last night. Holy smokes that was a great game. I also watched the 4th quarter of Ole Miss beating Georgia.

I like seeing all the parity in college football. 12 team play off is going to be interesting who gets in and who wins it. Also, keep an eye on Colorado. They have a chance as well and are playing pretty dern good.

BS Dave .... you went weeks and weeks ... loss after loss and said NOTHING about UCF! The U loses and you cannot wait to post a "NOT" I didn't "attack UCF" (I don't give enough of a damn about them to attack them) I called out YOU.

The U lost because their suspect defense sucked and this time the offense could not bail them out ...... something I had both feared and predicted. <<<<< That is how you own a loss and not hide.

LBLARRY, the attacking UCF for no reason is from whitey's post. Get over yourself. Not everything is about The U.

I'm not sure you have very good reader comprehension, go look at some of my comments during the losing streak. There was nothing good to report or brag about. I announced they fired the Defensive Coordinator.

And, just because I don't mention everything you think I'm suppose to say doesn't mean squat. I'm very active on a UCF sports forum and UCF fb group. I am not hiding, and in the words of Deion Sanders, "I'm easy to find."

Believe it or not I was pulling for Miami to win, but the way their fans act, inclulding you, is off putting. You know and I know every year we hear..The U is back... NOT is an appropriate reply to that. Stop me if you heard that one before.

I'd like to see SMU win the ACC now. Former UCF rival that beat us all the time as well back in C-USA and the AAC. Glad to see another conference has to deal with them now.

Good Luck, Go Canes!

FSU and UCF share the same problems of getting a used up Qb in the transfer portal and thinking they were still good. But, FSU really fell from grace.

Hey, the Dolphins finally won a game last night! (looking for a florida team that wins is difficult to do). It's up to the Canes to represent Florida.

I think the Seminoles should get their asses kicked in the end of the year rivalry with UF, but I can easily imagine them winning just to keep UF from getting a bowl game. Those pyrrhic victories at the end happen with last place teams with nothing to lose.

I will begrudgingly give Napier the credit he's due. A 7 win season with the hardest schedule in the game is astounding. This win over last place FSU is a big win deal too bc FSU was dying to play the spoiler. Lagway looked awesome. He's a freshman. The future looks great for UF.

Right now, today. Florida is a better team than a LOT of the teams in the top 25

I watched that Syracuse Miami game. Bummer. The U is Back....NOT.

Of course, I'm just so giddy that FSU took Gus Malzhan off our hands with no 12 million dollar buy out to fire him. Wow. That wasn't on my bingo card.

Rumor is the Tulane coach or Dan Mullen to coach UCF. I think it will be the Tulane coach and waiting for the AAC championship game before announcing.

Interesting f#cking year. Enjoy the rest of the college games, it will be the off season before you know it. I've been watching a lot of football lately, pro and college. It's been some good entertainment this year.

a 9-3 bama in at #11. They don't have to play in the conference championship game so sneak in the playoffs.

My team has had a terrible 4 years. This season was just another one. I can talk down about any team I like. I was pulling for Miami. Syracuse played pretty good though.

I'm trying to figure out how a 3 loss bama team is ranked above Miami. Read a few justifications for it. It's looking like 4 SEC teams are going to get into the 12 team playoff.

Strength of schedule, I imagine. Bama played 4 ranked teams and beat 3 of them. Miami played no ranked teams.

Bama lost to Vandy. That should be auto disqualifier.

In common teams played.

Bama 42 USF 16
Canes 50 USF 15

Tough call. 3 losses first 2 losses though. I'd go with the 2 loss team as better team. Strength of Schedule is subjective.

For the eye test I've watched more Miami games than Bama this year and thought the canes were better at least on offense. Cam Ward is a generational talent.

I lost track of Bama and who plays for them so I don't know all the details. Just 3 losses, one being Vandy. Dismiss. Bring back Saban.

It seems like sneaking into the CFP and not having to play a conference championship game is the way to go. Bama now gets to rest this weekend before playing again.

The chance of a key player getting injured in the champ game is higher than not playing. I like the conference winner gets a bye in the play off. But, if you lose the conference game you aren't in the playoff seems weird. I'll guess I'll just sit and wait and see how it all plays out.

UCF still hasn't announced a new head coach yet. First signing day was today.

Lane Kiffin's College Football Playoff Complaints Are More SEC Entitlement

Ole Miss's real beef should be with league mate Alabama getting a likely bid, but still, the ACC is the aggrieved party in that decision.

Hey, we are State Champs. I'll take it. If I'm an NFL team, I'm trying to figure out how to draft Cam Ward.

Everything about college football is a mess. Recruiting, NIL, playoffs, on field officiating, Coach hiring/firing/contract.

If I was a college AD , I would never take a call from someone named Sexton.

yup, college football is the Wild Wild West right now. I think it will gradually shift to the NFL model. It has to.

get rid of the college football playoff committee, go with wins and losses and win your damn conference to get into the playoffs with wild cards.

This ain't figure skating.

Bama getting into the playoffs is a mistake. There are two Big 12 teams with 2 losses in their conference championship game, and only one gets in...yet, SEC gets 4 teams in for what?

Gators are the hottest SEC team towards the end, knocking off Ole Miss and LSU. Yet, Miami goes into the swamp and dismantles the mighty Gators.

Then Bama loses to Vandy, Tenn, and a 5 loss Oklahoma team 24 to 3. Someone tell me why they are more deserving?

This is why they need to get rid of biased committee people. Look at my opinion. Who would want my opinion to count who gets into the playoffs? Nobody.

Wins and losses. Let the play in the field make the decisions, not who makes the most money.

If NFL had the college model the Dallas Cowboys would be in the playoffs no matter what their record is.

But, it is what it is, and I think the system will change next summer with the court rulings with profit sharing.

And, we all knew going to a 12 team playoff we would be arguing about #13, #14, #15 teams being left out.

Enjoy the end of football season. It's a comin'.

If UCF gets Tulane's coach or Mullen, they will be in great shape. I cannot imagine how Malzhan will improve FSU. His hurry up offense was the only innovation he brought to UCF and after that, he had nothing. What the hell is Norvell doing besides dusting off a nostalgic friendship. This is very much reminiscent of FSU's complete QB failure with DJ Ukelele, Clemson's cast off. FSU takes him and inexplicably expects great things from him and he sucks. The back up was not much better. Now, FSU needs a new QB for Malzhan to call plays for. How the f is this an improvement?

Well, Dave, I told you so. Everybody (including you) said that expanding to 12 teams would solve the problems. As I have said over and over, there will still be bitching and griping by no. 13 and 14. (Your posts are a prime example.) You guys will never, ever be happy. They should do away with this and just go back to the old bowl system where the bowls mattered, schools (and fans) were happy getting into a bowl and two or three teams could end up no. 1 (meaning two or three sets of fans were happy). The NCAA tournament started at 8 teams, then 16, then 32, then 64 and now, what?, 72 teams AND STILL NO. 73 BITCHES. There is no good solution for football, just do the bowls, have an orgy of football on New Year's Day and go to work happy on Jan 2. Alas, I know I am pissing up a rope with you young guys who aren't old enough to have experienced it, but it truly was better back then.

The College Football Playoff committee put Miami behind Alabama in Tuesday's penultimate College Football Playoff rankings, and the chair of the selection committee said neither team could improve their position because they are not playing in this week's conference title games.

Although that means the Hurricanes will almost certainly miss the College Football Playoff, that has not stopped Miami coach Mario Cristobal, quarterback Cam Ward and even ACC commissioner Jim Phillips from lobbying the committee to change their mind and include UM.

"We are incredibly shocked and disappointed that Miami dropped six spots to No. 12," Phillips said in a statement. "Miami has more wins and fewer losses than the team directly ahead of them and a dominant victory over an SEC team whose late-season surge includes a win over No. 13 Ole Miss. Moreover, with two losses by a combined nine points - to a ranked Syracuse team and a Georgia Tech team that just took No. 5 Georgia to eight overtimes - Miami absolutely deserves better from the committee.

"As we look ahead to the final rankings, we hope the committee will reconsider and put a deserving Miami in the field."

Cristobal also urged the committee to take another look at UM's case on Wednesday, mentioning that Miami beat teams like Louisville and Duke, which could arguably be in the top 25 rankings but were left out.

"There's confidence and trust that people will process and give consideration to what is real," Cristobal said. "There's a 28th and a 26th (teams) in there. There's a reason they go all the way to 30 or 35 sometimes. That was discounted or not really mentioned. Neither was a 4-2 road record against bowl-eligible teams as opposed to a 1-3 record. No one brought up the data points of the simplicity of watching film. Fourth quarter, Alabama-South Florida, 21-16. Fourth quarter, five minutes left in the game. Miami and South Florida (was) a different score. Or a crossover game with the SEC, which we know what that result was.

"That and so many other things have come up, and hopefully, things will continue to be reviewed and considered and things can be then adjusted because it's exponentially harder to win a 10th game during the season than there is an eighth, a ninth. As we keep hearing, winning is important, so hopefully, that will be considered."

Athletic director Dan Radakovich took to social media Tuesday night to lodge a complaint about the committee's rankings, too.
"Really?" he wrote. "What put 'Bama over the top of Miami for the last spot in is that Miami went 1-2 in their last (three) games (by an average of 4.5 pts to a ranked Syracuse and GT team that just took UGA to 8OT). 'Bama went 2-1 (to a 5-7 Auburn, destroyed by OU, and beat FCS Mercer)."

Unfortunately for Miami, selection committee chair Warde Manuel said their spot is essentially written in stone.

"There's not another data point because they're not playing in the championship games," Manuel said, referring to Indiana and Tennessee, who are in the playoff but also are not playing in conference title games. "So we don't have anything else to add to the evaluation of those teams, so we can't move them above or below each other."

Ward, who won the ACC Player of the Year on Wednesday, told ACC Network on Wednesday that the selection committee simply made the wrong decision. Ward defended UM's defense, which has been a weak spot for the Hurricanes, citing their No. 24 national ranking in yards allowed per game. However, Miami also has allowed 23.9 points per game, which is 60th in the nation.

"At the end of the day, them boys who are in that committee - I really doubt they watch tape or not. We're a 10-2 team," Ward said. "I'm not saying Alabama's not a good team, which they are. But we can talk about the points. That's not even the biggest factor, I believe. We've got a top-25 defense, which was actually one of the best defenses in the country, so both sides of the ball, we're one of the best teams in the country. You talk about an offense who puts points on the board left and right, whether it's passing, whether it's (running). We've got two great running backs in the backfield in (Damien Martinez and Mark Fletcher Jr.). It's hard to leave that out. We're playing better defenses, in my opinion, than the SEC."

"It's just hard. I did what I could. The team, we control what we control. We controlled our own destiny for a lot of the season, and we didn't end up getting the job done. We know it was all in our hands, and it got taken away from us when we lost. So there's nothing we can do about it now but just sit there and be patient and try to get our opportunity to play for another game."

You must not have been paying attention. Malzhan followed Scott Frost and Josh Heupel as coaches. Two coaches that play at ultra fast speed. Malzhan slowed the offense down big time. His play calling was horrible. We have all the talent, it was the coaching that let UCF down.

Young guys? I know you are older than me, but I'm 60. Been following college football since 1970s. My dad played for Woodie Hayes at Ohio State. I'm no whipper snapper. Played football for Satellite High School, 80-82. Skipped my senior year as football got in the way of surfing. Played Ultimate for UCF 85-89 as a club sport and 1985 is when I started going to UCF football games. I've always had to pull for the underdog and hate how the Bamas of the world, Notre Dame as well, get treated different. I like sport's that have an even playing field and when everything favors Goliath i'm pulling for David.

College football will eventually be regulated to the NFL model and as a semi-pro farm league. Education is second and just play the sport and represent the school. Contracts and collective bargaining is coming just like the NFL eventually. Just going thru growing pains.

I could be wrong though. I usually am!

Got you by 10 years, young 'un! We agree 100% on ND. One of my happiest memories is how they had USC down by a bunch at the half. (I think it was something like 28-0.) But, USC ran the 2nd half kick back for a TD and were off to the races. If my ever failing memory is correct, it was the Anthony Davis/Sam Bam Cunningham team. AD would run it to the 1 and Sam Bam would fly over the line to the endzone. ND didn't score in the 2nd half and USC scored on every possession. (Again, all based on a faulty memory.) I went from the dumps to total ecstasy. (USC and the Gators were both my teams then.)

Football can do that to you!

I'm okay with the semi-pro route for College. Have a degree in college that awards a bachelors, masters, and Ph'd in the Sport of Football. Learn all the business aspects of it and coaching, athletic director, to general manager of the NFL degrees. Why not?

I went to UCF to learn how to operate computers. Why not football? Is there a degree for Football?

MBA in Sport's Management is probably close. At least teach the players to learn how to write a check, save money, pay taxes. Just like any other field of study.

Just thinking. I'm going to soak in these championship games this weekend. I'll be here to debate on the other side of them on the CFP. LBLarry just wants to sit in the shadows and snipe me when he can.

Hopefully Miami gets a good bowl match up.

I wish UCF had a bowl game, but i'm really looking forward to change which always is coming.

I'm with you guys in being glad Malzahn handed UCF the gift of leaving, and wondering what FSU gets out of the deal.

Considering Malzahn "fired himself" as chief play-caller mid-season and let the real OC take over that aspect, why would FSU want him as an OC and play-caller?

For Norvell, it takes a little heat and responsibility off him, but seems like a last-minute, flailing grab at straws to preserve his own job.

It does seem odd that Malzahn had a new job one day after UCF's last game. How long was that in the works, and how mentally checked out was Malzahn from UCF before it got to that point?

Frost and Heupel did indeed run faster offenses than Malzahn. Although they didn't play a Big-12 schedule, they put up good offensive numbers all season. Malzahn's high yardage and scoring statistics were padded by the early-season wins over patsy teams. By the time conference opponents reviewed early UCF game films and observed UCF running the ball 70% of the time and built game plans around it, it was pretty much over for UCF. UCF will never recruit an O-line capable of sustaining ground-and-pound dominance.

It seems to some extent like Malzahn lost control of the team or respect from the team around the midseason when FG kicker Colten Boomer opted for the transfer portal.

I think even Dillon Gabriel's departure (despite championship and NIL opportunities) was related to Malzahn's preference for the run. Frost and Heupel had QB playing experience and built solid passing teams where they coached. Malzahn's preference for the "dual threat" run/pass QB seems to require a compromise in both aspects. Brady, Brees, Rogers, Montana... champion QBs who never ran. McKenzie Milton: career-ending (realistically) running the ball. DG: Throwing lasers all over Oregon on his way to a championship.

I hope to see a more exciting, pass-happy, speedy brand of football in Orlando the next year or two. They'll never win this conference on the ground.

< end rant >

Whitey - I think you miss my point. When you play a bunch of patsies in between the few tough teams on the schedule, you can practice for those teams and minimize injuries by pulling players against the patsies to avoid injuries. Just take a look at their schedule this year which is typical year in and year out -

Texas A&M (tough team)
No. Illinois (looked tough at the time, but ended up being a patsy at 7-5 and they still lost)
Purdue (patsy year in and year out)
Miami (OH) (patsy)
Louisville (moderately tough at 8-4, but in the ACC)
Stanford (patsy)
Georgia Tech (ACC patsy even though they gave UGA a tough game)
Navy (patsy)
Fla State (patsy)
Virginia (patsy)
Army (sort of tough this year, but usually a patsy)
USC (normally a tough team)

Do you see the pattern? Tough game, three patsies, tough-ish game, three patsies, tough-ish game. Booby Bowden sure did. That's why he joined the ACC.

UCF "How long was that in the works"

Methinks after the disastrous Colorado game. There were so much gross play calling and poor time management in that game. Gus's clock management was horrible in pretty much every game this year. Down two Tds and running the clock down under ten and a lot of delay-of-game calls were frustrating. For those who didn't watch the UCF games probably wouldn't understand. Gus Malzhan's offense went stagnant. Our Running Back, Rj Harvey almost broke 2000 yards this season. UCF offense was one dimensional with horrible Qb play. 4 Qb's played this year and the best one turned out to be the last. Then he went downhill after there was film on him. It was a mess. Glad we have change and Malzhan did UCF a huge favor of leaving on his own and UCF didn't have to pay the 12 million dollar buy out. I'm sure there is more behind the scenes but Gus won the press conferences but not the play on the field. Change is good, I hope Gus is successful at FSU. He is a good man, good recruiter, and probably needs less stress in his life as he is already a multi-millioner with Auburn's 21 million dollar buy out. End of the Gus Era....NEXT!
