http://www.npr.org/2021/02/25/...n-effort-to-save-coal

" Erickson wants to keep Coal Creek Station open, because it's a pillar of the local economy. Other political leaders in North Dakota do, too. They're looking for a company willing to buy the plant and keep it running. And in the meantime, they don't want wind companies claiming that transmission line. "Without a transmission line, there's no value in the plant," Erickson says.

Two counties next to Coal Creek Station moved quickly to keep wind companies from getting access to the line. McClean County adopted new rules that allowed the county to deny permits for feeder lines from new wind farms. Mercer County, next door, passed a two-year moratorium on new wind projects."

Uh, you have got it backwards. Windmills have been around for over a thousand years. Coal fired plants a couple of hundred at most. Next you guys will be claiming that horses are the new high tech transportation. in any event, SD is smart to keep their coal plants.

Don't quote that dope, some things are much better left unseen.

As to my original reply:

"This has been a heart-breaking decision," said David Saggau, the company's CEO, speaking by video to the North Dakota Lignite Council, which represents North Dakota's mining industry. Yet Saggua told the miners that he had little choice, because the coal plant couldn't compete with cheaper electricity from other sources, mainly natural gas.

In 2021, Trump voters actually thought they could attack the capital and overthrow an election. These people have blocked wind farms, when natural gas is the real issue. A large swath of the human race is actually getting dumber. That is and always will be amazing to me

Fight the future and stay with an industry that is doomed, dangerous mortally wounded economically? Windmills are not new? Maybe winterizing wind mills is new to you. But otherwise, forcing a ban on a business and depriving private property owners of rent? That's ok?

You said I was dumb for stating the above, why?

Is it the because you didn't know that Florida doesn't have the required wind patterns for windmills to work? lol

Moron. Man, are you otherworldly stupid.
