So i'm a sales rep for Central 28 Beer company and they have me doing
about 600-900 miles per week depending on where i'm going but i always
return to orlando to feed my doggo

I have no problem with being on the road that much but i have noticed that
when i go to get up on my board while i'm surfing, my hip flexors are so freaking
stiff that i cannot get my legs under me

i also realized that i can't bring my feet together anymore like i used to
and prior to taking this job, i could without issue (my weight was the same)

i've noticed that driving seems to be the culprit..... i can't not drive...

what can i do to loosen up my legs from the waist down starting with my hip flexors
and working down to my calves as they are super tight too.

Rick! There's a name from the way back, good to hear from you. Mrs. tom convinced me to start yoga with her during covid. A) it's been pretty fun and B) it's really helped this old bod keep moving. Just my 2 cents. Give it a shot? See ya out there.

I have the problem with too much sitting in general and driving in particular.

Where do you put your wallet? Last century, my back used to go out frequently. I'd move wrong, hear/feel a pop in my lower back/upper buttocks area. Then I'd have to head for a place where I could lay for an indefinite time. Doc would give me flexeril and I'd be able to function (some) after a week or so. I moved my wallet from my back pocket to my front. No more problems. I took a while before I'd freak out not finding my wallet back there.

I remember the wallet being an issue in 2004
Ever since then, I haven't had a full sized wallet nor have I ever put my wallet in my back pocket.

It was legitimately life changing

WW, luckily I'm not driving as much now but still feel it pretty bad since I've been road trippin for so many years.

OFDPhildo and Cole, thanks for the YouTube videos.
Definitely checking them out

Tom, good to see ya still on these forums. I love doing yoga and haven't in many many years. That'll change soon enough with a much more flexible schedule

See all of ya in the water

look into stretching the psoas muscle, seemed to fix a bunch of my issues from driving for uber full time a couple years ago.

Yes, psoas is good as well. Its all connected. Hip flexors, quads, hammys, low back. Try the 90 90 stretch too. Alot usually comes down to weak hammy strings and tight hip flexors.

53 years old here, and I have been surfing over 30 years and cardio and strength training a bit longer than that. I have recently found yoga and it's life changing. I do videos for free from YouTube.
