It always helps that the flatness here is unrelenting.

That small wave did not make its way down to south florida. But I am ahead of the average. I got to surf six days in June. That's pretty good.

Tropical storm conditions are expected on San Andres on Friday,
along the Caribbean coasts of Costa Rica and Nicaragua within the Tropical Storm Warning areas late Friday, and are possible within the Tropical Storm Watch areas along the Pacific coasts of Costa Rica and Nicaragua on Saturday. |

Its looking like 4-6 (costa rican scale) on surfline. My guess is that will translate into 8-10 with occasional 12 in Santa Teresa.

How you could find anyone in Santa Teresa is the real mystery. She must have really done something to stand out. ------------------------- "One of the reasons why propaganda tries to get you to hate government is because it's the one existing institution in which people can participate to some extent and constrain tyrannical unaccountable power." When I got to Hawaii last month the S. shore was 8-10. I gave my broken toe a few days
rest, and afterr that - got on it when it was a much cleaner and more manageable 6-8. It don't stay 8-10 forever

Salsa Brava probably huge right now! I've surfed there before. What a great wave.
RAINFALL: The Potential Tropical Cyclone is expected to produce heavy rain across Nicaragua and Costa Rica today into Saturday. The following storm total rainfall amounts are expected: Nicaragua and Costa Rica: 4 to 8 inches, with isolated higher totals around 12 inches. This rainfall is expected to result in areas of life-threatening flash flooding and mudslides. WIND: Hurricane conditions are possible within the Hurricane Watch area in Nicaragua this evening or tonight. Tropical storm conditions are expected over San Andres Island today. Tropical storm conditions are expected to reach the Tropical Storm Warning area along the Caribbean coasts of Nicaragua and Costa Rica by this evening and will spread westward to the Pacific coast within the warning areas by Saturday morning. STORM SURGE: Storm surge could raise water levels by as much as 1 to 3 feet above normal tide levels along the immediate coast of Nicaragua near and to the north of where the center makes landfall. |

Do you still need the travel insurance for CR ? Was not needed when I went the beginning of this year. We did have to test returning to US. Things have changed a bit since then. https://cr.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/ ------------------------- Time and tide wait for no one..... Edited: 07/01/2022 at 07:30 PM by KP |

I always buy it for 1) trip cancellation and 2) medical evac. Better to ave it and not need it...

I learned a few trips ago that the "urgent" care in Santa Teresa is limited to asking if you have evac insurance. Not the same as an urgent here at all.
I have tried to stay in shape but we all know that not surfing for this length of time means not in surfing shape. I do get my ass kicked but I stay at it and pick my waves carefully. ------------------------- "One of the reasons why propaganda tries to get you to hate government is because it's the one existing institution in which people can participate to some extent and constrain tyrannical unaccountable power." She let her eyes deceive her. The place only looks like the end of the world. I would think of your pattern is yoga, maybe you hold off for a while. Also, that place is a yoga marijuana colony. May as well have had a neon sign.
