Not sure about magazines. But I don't think it limited to vintage items. Persons are encouraged to bring any boards etc.

Lol one guy wants to bring his Doc Martens collection?!

Saturday's rain chance looks a lot like today. I should bring my ancient Pope Bisect, with spare parts. The thing's functional and does make it a bit easier to lug a 10' around, but I doubt that I'll ever use it again. Also switching from DaFin to Yucca so could bring some of them over. That, or make a donation to lifeguards in Indian River Co.

I was busy prepping for training next week, so hiding in Vero.. The Bisect was used, pressure indentations on the back half deck and an apparent travel indentation on the bottom. Plenty of spare parts--I was careful to buy them. Original fin, board bag, board sock. I can set up a Flickr album with photos. Harbour 10'.

When you referred to it as " Ancient " , I was thinking of an actual " Vintage " Pope Bisect . Only Ten to Twelve were actually produced ( Accounts very ) . But it would be one of the rarest of Surfboards on Planet Earth . Estimated value $ 20,000 ++

Nope, I think late 90s at earliest, maybe early 2000's. Serial # would settle that. Pope Bisect collapsed in the early 2000s, so it's from toward the end of their run.

To bad if you had an Vintage Original , the Sky's the limit , as there were supposedly ONLY 10 TO 12 ACTUALLY manufactured ? We would be talking about a minimum of $ 20 , 000 ++ ( And of that very SMALL number, how many have actually resurfaced in Collectable Condition ? )

I remember reading the ad in Surfer "back in the day". BTW - JoeStrummer, when we connect I have a couple of "interesting" old Surfers that I want to show you. Remember "It's always summer on the inside" (Sigh)

For retro, art book publisher Taschen has Jim Heiman's "SURFING", the original 15 pound $200 edition on sale for $125. I got mine for less. It was an extravagance, but the thing is amazing. Taschen surfing

I was helping a buddy clean out his mom's house after her death back in the 80s. We were working on his (former) closet when he pulled out a box. "We may have hit the mother load!" says he. I opened it and it was a box of late 60s/early 70s Surfers as well as some "Tracks", misc Rolling Stones (back when they offered an album like "Eat a Peach" with a subscription) and a playbill for Bud Browne's "Goin' Surfin" at the (CCB) Surfside Playhouse. The first Surfer I opened was the famous "Greg Loehr at IHB" centerfold (which he told me via this forum years ago, was really taken at Lum's, but another story) and the second was the "It's always summer on the inside" ad. Then my buddy gave me the entire box. Still have all of it. Thanks, Dave!
