Biden Recklessly Draining Strategic Petroleum Reserve to 'Buy Down Political Risk for Midterms'
By Mike Miller | 12:15 PM on September 29, 2022

As I've suggested multiple times in the past, it's "almost" like Joe Biden has intentionally created crisis after crisis, with the paramount objective of destroying the American economy, increasing Southern Border chaos and its consequences, and further destabilizing an already unstable international environment.

Having driven up the cost of energy to the point of out-of-control gas prices and subsequent outrage among tens of millions of hardworking Americans, the most inept, incoherent president in history continues to drain the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) to dangerous levels - in a desperate effort to insulate the Democrats from him and his dumpster fire disasters in the upcoming midterm elections.

According to Department of Energy data, stocks of crude oil in the SPR fell 6.9 million barrels in the week ending Sept. 16 to 427.2 million barrels, the lowest level since August 1984, reported Just the News.

U.S. Oil and Gas Association President Tim Stewart took to the paint against Biden's reckless actions in a perfect analogy:

This is the first time in history, honestly, that the Strategic Petroleum Reserve has been used as a campaign credit card to buy down political risk for the midterms.

Not only is the above a perfect analogy for Biden's irresponsible draining of the SPR, but also for the Democrat Party as a whole - for the last six decades - stretching back to the beginning of Lyndon Johnson's spectacular failure, the 1964 War on Poverty, which, by 2019, cost taxpayers more than $23 trillion.

"Let me put this into perspective," Stewart added (emphasis, mine):

At the current rate, the U.S. is selling more oil out of its emergency reserves than the production of most medium-sized OPEC countries like Algeria or Angola. We're selling twice as much per day than we're producing out of Alaska. That puts us somewhere between Exxon and Conoco in terms of ... the impact we're having on the daily supply - and this is happening without new oil going into replace it."

Yup, just another dangerous example of why Biden should be impeached and convicted. Bring on word-salad master Kamala Harris, next, and we'll deal with her, too. (Again, the outcome of the 2024 general election cannot be overemphasized - let's not intentionally screw it up.)

Stewart also noted the "sheer hypocrisy" [of Biden] spending decades beating up on the oil and gas industry, profiting by it for that four years when he's not in public office, and then coming back in and trying to hamstring and to kneecap our industry again."

The height of Biden's hypocrisy ranks right up there with his ridiculous buck-passing to everyone and everything but himself for the crises he has created - again, most of which were intentional.

During a recent podcast with JTN founder John Solomon, New York Republican Rep.Claudia Tenney also blasted Biden for sacrificing U.S. energy security to his own partisan political interests - a hallmark of Biden's entire 50-year political career in our nation's Capital.

For purely cynical political reasons, Joe Biden needed to lower the price of gas before this midterm election, to try to bring back the numbers for the Democrats, and to try to bring back his abysmal poll ratings.

And, oh how abysmal those poll ratings are.

To be sure, Biden's irresponsible attack on American energy and subsequent draining of the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve is unparalleled in American history. That said, let's take a stab at fair and balanced (it's a concept; check it out) before we close out.

Donald Trump's 2017 proposal to sell nearly half the U.S. emergency oil stockpile sparked fierce debate about whether the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is still needed amid an ongoing oil production boom that saw U.S. imports drop sharply in the previous decade. If one supported or opposed Trump's plan, that "one" - and the legacy media - should presumably have the same reaction to Biden's decisions, now.

That includes Democrats and their lapdog media.
