dollar weed control/elimination

My front yard was almost totally covered with dollar weed. Tried many different control methods. Last week I applied 2,4-D Amine. There is not a single live leaf showing this AM. This stuff is awesome though it did not do much on some of the other weeds. My yard is Zoyzia. I could not find it locally but was able to get it at Amazon, it was about $40 for enough to cover an acre or two. Aloha! Bob

I want to find some Coquina stones to make a border in my yard. Do you know where I could find some cheap/free? What do they do with all the Coquina that washes up on the beach in Brevard? Can the public take a rock or two? Anyone have any ideas?

FOR SALE = VERY RARE VARIETY of BROMELIADS called Aechmea Bracteata and they are native to Columbia to Mexico. I call them little shop of horrors as they have that look. I'm a private grower/collector. These are very large and are a year round landscape focal center piece show piece. These had just started to bloom, blooms last for most of the year. After bloom they will pup out and you will always have more in your collection. I've had this variety for the past 15 years now. Once ever other year or so I have a handful available for sale. Almost no care or maintenance needed. The only place I've seen these is at the Vero Beach Jungle Gardens aside from the ones I've provided.

Fresh Tropical Flower Bouquets for MOTHER'S DAY

I have a shipment of fresh tropical flowers coming in for Mother's Day (May 12th)

I will have a limited quantity, so I am taking pre-pay reservations via the internet and it will be first come/first serve

I will have them in hand this Friday May 10th- they include true freshly cut tropicals flown in directly from the farm: Big fat Heliconias, Red Gingers, and other assorted tropicals flowers and foliage.
All bundled in a plastic sleeve +flower food for $20 +tax (total=$21)

Mom will be truly impressed! These are the kind of flowers you would see on vacation to Costa Rica, Tahiti, Hawaii, etc. You can put them in a tall vase and they will last for weeks. Better than roses

Pickup will be Friday and Saturday at Exotica Tropicals nursery in Indian Harbour Beach- just north of beachside Lowe's. Normal hours are 9:30am - 1:30 on Fridays and on Saturday I am open til 2pm, but call if you need me to stay later, or meet you.

Bare Backyard....need ideas

I'm looking to move into a beachside house that is nice except the back yard is pretty bare. Its mostly all that brownish type of sand with a few wild flowers growing here and there. But its pretty bare. Its mostly sunny with about 6ish hours of sun per day I'd guess.

Any ideas what would be good to plant? Looking for low plants that grow horizontally to provide some ground cover. Trying to stay away from grass if possible.

Free sod & Heliconias

I have about 150 ft of rolled sod that I just cut from my yard with a sod cutter. It is free to anyone who wants it. I'm working in the yard all day so give me a call if you want to come pick it up. My buddy gave me three plumeria "sticks" a year ago and told me to shove them in some soil in a pot and they will be fine. So I did, and I finally got my first flower. I can't believe how pretty it is. I'm stoked!

Garden path

Hey folks...me again! I'm heavily considering building a walking path in an effort to get rid of more sod in my yard...and so I can enjoy a nice stroll I've never built one and I'm wondering if you guys have any experience with it. I was thinking of making a sand path with weedblock underneath, black plastic in-ground border and using cheap bricks or landscaping timbers for the top borders. Is that idea as simple as I think it is? Or are there some things that I'm missing in a proper garden path. I don't know the cost of sand or the proper type of sand and just in case it's too expensive I may go with mulch(although I'm concerned about splinters in my feet!)... Any advice would be great. Thanks again!

Hey everybody...I was wondering if anyone knows of a good link for information on native plants for my yard. I'm re-doing the landscaping in my whole yard and am trying to plants things that are decorative but also native in hopes that the maintenance will be minimal. I am also trying to figure out the best options for the north side of my house which is full shade. As always, any input is greatly appreciated!
