I've read everything from wait till a new spike opens, which can take 4-6 weeks, too fertilize immediately after transplanting. With small palms grown from seed I always wait about a month. I just planted a couple thirty gallon royals, about three weeks ago. Wondering what some of the growers on here recommend? TIA...

I think it's more "what."  Cycads like quick-release fertiizer with nitrogen to support those quick growth bursts.  Palms are happier with lower nitrogen and slow release.  The new leaves are ongoing projects.
