I gathered some green seeds from my neighbors areca. They are starting to break open and drop.

The seed pod seems to be filled with an orange fruit type material. I peeled one open but didn't see any seed inside, just soft fruit. Is there a process for getting these seeds to germinate?

It sounds like they are immature. Pick em when they are ripe, I believe they turn a yellowish orange color when ready.

That's what I was initially thinking, my other palms don't drop the fruit till they start turning orange. On the areca for whatever reason it's dropping green seeds.
