Have a red or Florida maple about 12-15 feet away from the house. Its been there since the house was built and is big and beautiful. But the roots are everywhere and this has me wondering if they are capable of causing foundation problems. Do we have an arborist among us or anyone else with expert knowledge in this area? Interweb has mixed info, with most of the stuff I read saying this particular type of maple, Acer rubrum, is not a problem for foundations. The roots seem to be endless...
