Mini-Drought in effect! Erg....

Morning RAOBs/RAP40 analysis once again paints a rather meager
precip potential for central FL this aftn.

Yep. Bone dry again with no relief on the horizon. I'm not much off a dancer either.

I got a surprise rain tonight. A drizzle. Nothing to soak into the dry top soil though.

Melbourne Beach (town) hasn't seen rain in tooooo long. I see it build up, just to be blown away. They are getting it somewhere, looked like it might have been raining down near inlet, but not here!!! please tomorrow, please bring the rain.

just checking some weather sites, it looks like the chance of rain on the East coast goes up starting today, and really better odds early next week.

Geez, its been so hot and dry lately. I have some plants that I can only use rain water to keep moist, i.e. jaboticaba. I need rain although I haven't used up all my captured rain water yet from last deluge, I am running low. Keep up those rain dances!

I'm not much of a dancer, had never been.

But I was delighted to do my share.

I washed my car today for a long long time.

Thank you.

Getting real dry, even the beach grass we have in our yard is getting crispy.

We gonna get rain or surf first?

-------------------------
Replace turf grass with native plants that don't need irrigation and synthetic fertilizers or chemicals that can go into our waterways and ocean

From Saturday morning:

Showers and a few storms over the Treasure/Space Coast waters with a
few showers making it onshore before dissipating at mid morning.
Pattern will favor showers and a few storms near the coast through
early afternoon...then highest storm coverage late afternoon/early
evening down spine of peninsula as the east coast and west coast sea
breeze boundaries and related outflows collide...including Lake
Co/metro Orlando areas.

Main afternoon/evening storm threats will be torrential downpours,
frequent lightning, small hail, and gusty downburst winds enhanced
by some lingering dry air aloft. May nudge late day inland pops up
a tad but generally in good shape.

Got some rain Saturday in Palm Bay.
Not a whole lot, but enough to take the wilt out of everything.

That lasted all of about 5 mins, but hey, 1/16 inch, and I was glad for it.

Like Daner said.  I'm keeping some nursery plants in their pots until things green up a bit.

Yardwise, the St. Augustine grass in the front yard has roared back after a big patch died last summer.  Same was starting in the back, but death has resumed.  Will try fungicide, check for chinch bugs.  But the back is almost gone enough to warrant replanting.

I live just off the lagoon in the brown spot below the cape.

July is not looking any better.

Less Than Three. Great band name. I would laugh but geez, I hate droughts.
