Invasive in the tropics. I guess they can reproduce from cuttings...aka broken limbs. Horticulturalists in PR say get rid of them! Nice flower though.

They were all over on Kauai. Florida has a reasonably long list of native tropical trees that hold up well in hurricanes. Of course in a category 5, everything gets smashed anyway. Matthew was enough to damage gumbo limbos and topple a thriving young paradise tree at Heathcote Garden. |
