After reading most of your lychee posts I bought a Mauritius. Wife's not appreciating the new Glenn or the lychee due to 50 other palm trees throughout the yard.

But, will see how this goes. Room is tighter than I like but sun, protection from wind and watering is a go. I'll just prune it to work since I don't have a large spread between my other trees. Located between the river and ocean, just hoping the salt doesn't get to it !

Appreciate the enthusiasm, appears addictive.

So you found your Glenn and a lychee. Where did you end up getting them from?

Glenn from South Brevard Nursery on Minton. Lychee from Home Dept on New Haven. That nursery and staff are fantastic. Recommend ! 30 bucks for the mango, 6ft tall: couldn't believe it for the price. Lychee is small, 3 1/2ft ... for 34 bucks

Good luck with the Mauritius. about 15 years ago I planted mine under the power lines and am now in the process of hacking it back! They do need full sun and also when young, wind protection.

How far are you from the ocean? Mine is four houses away from A1A behind a sapodilla wind break and it still gets leaf burn when we have strong onshore winds. I would be sure that it has some form of wind protection especially for the first couple of years.

That particular Home Depot has one of the best garden depts around.

I'm a couple blocks from the river. Should be good, planted in time for the rain that's for sure !
