The jackfruit tree starts producing more and more fruits this year. Can't wait till they get ripe which will be around September. I'll post more pictures as they develop.

Have a few at the house on the beachside. Not doing so well. What type of fertilizer do you use, and what are their water requirements?

DM, the variety is 'Leung Bang' from Thailand...........yellow & thin flesh. Fruit size is between 10-20 lbs.

GB, jackfruit requires regular watering when young. I use the mango/avocado fertilizer twice a year.

Those Jackfruits are getting big and should be ready to be picked next week. The first picture was taken 2 weeks ago.

This pic was taken today.

At the July fruit club meeting, they had some jackfruit seeds on the tasting table in addition to jackfruit. I took two of the seeds and they sprouted in about two weeks. Here they are about a month and a half later, about 8-9" tall.
Not sure if I have room in the yard for a Jack tree, but willing to find out with a free one, unknown variety.

Thanks, Mike!!!

Jackfruit is easy to grow from seed. I wasn't at the July meeting, but my advice to you is to plant the jackfruit only if you like the taste of the fruit. It takes 5-7 years depend on the variety to produce. I once got a tree from friend and it took 5 years to bear the fruits that I didn't like and had to remove it and planted something else.
