Very nice!!! I have a lot of different bromeliad flowers coming up also, they will take a few weeks to open up. Those flowers last several months.

That kinda looks like Aechmea mulfordii 'malva' to me. Nice

Thanks for the ID. I probably got this one from one of you two. The flower is about 8 feet high and looks much better in person than in photo. The purple leaf helps also and is ornamental even without the flower spike.

Portea petropolitana var. extensa
I have a record (for me) 17 blooms on my large plants under the borassus palm this year. They last a very long time, 4-5 months and take full sun!

Any chance you know of anywhere to acquire a pup from either of those? I've been looking for some large bromeliad varieties to fill in my beds

Ha ha, a few months ago I had a 'bromeliad extraganza' and offered the Portea pups for $2 each. No one took me up on those as they were not in bloom and I suspect the plain green plant is not that attractive. Now they are incredibly beautiful in full bloom. Price is up to $200,000 each.

Usually big unique blooms are from a hybred and there's no telling what the pups will bring.

DeRoos Plants in Apopka, the largest bromeliad grower in the area, does a lot of experimental cross-breeding. Paul sometimes cuts loose some very unusual plants when finished experimenting.

There's an even bigger bromeliad sale in Orlando in September.  While the conference has a pretty high registration fee, I'm pretty certain the sale is open to everybody.
