My father has some property up in Volusia county and has recently had an old sinkhole (aerial photos show it originated back in the 40's) dug out into a small pond via backhoe. The sides are pretty steep and sandy at the moment, we're wondering if we should put something in to help stabilize the sides from washing back into the pond before the rainy season comes.

Any ideas?

Erosion control blanket

I see this stuff on the berms next to highways that the DOT uses to control erosion. 100 feet for $33 isnt too bad.

Sod is an option, someone suggested sprigging bermuda.

Hadn't even thought of that stuff phresh, that might feasible. I need to see whether we could seed grass through the blanket, if so that could definitely work.

Thanks for the thoughts!
Daniel
