Weeds, weeds, weeds and more weeds. Sargasso is stacked up next to the south jetty and fills the inlet on incoming. On the plus side, Mojarra are there and things are eating them if you can get below the weeds. We didn't get any snooks - we fished in the middle of the day, but there were plenty of jacks and some whopper Red fish.

Not yet. The water was super clear and I didn't see any; both jetties, catwalks, tide pool and the rocks between the south jetty and the bridge. The Pilchards haven't shown up yet, which is odd.

sounds like you stayed away from the north jetty circus? last time i was there I walked out just for the show, and saw guys hand lining with rope for jewfish, and "releasing" overslots by chucking them over the rail in a dramatic belly flop of death.......I think there should be a "net up, net down" policy so many turn into shark bait.
