I check the sebastian website but was curious if anyone has been lately.

I may try one night this weekend, thinking about just throwing artificial just trying to stretch a line.

Looks like blues and jacks are in town but was hoping for a red or snuke, any tips?

Night time bait was thin. No Pilchards or Greenies, but the mullet are starting to show.

Those in the know with Mojarra were getting snook and reds just before dark. Too many weeds flowing through for us lure chuckers to do any good.

Bait is thin. I lucked into a guy that was headed out and he gave me 2 dozen Mojarra, which I used right at dark on the south jetty on incoming tide. I got a 27 incher on the first bait and a big jack on the second. The guy next to me was out of bait, so I shared what I had. The total between the two of us was seven snook; four dinks, two at 27.2 inches and one just over 28. He got the 28.

I waited for the tide and switched to lures on outgoing. Standing in the same spot on the jetty throwing a windcheater, I got beat up by lady fish, small blues and two dink snook. I switched to a mid size Mirrolure and got a 40 incher that made me rock dance to the tip of the jetty. At 49, I sure as hell don't move over the wet rocks like I used to...

Fun night in all and Roman from Fellsmere, the guy I shared the bait with, owes me a 12 pack!

Sounds like a good nite, enjoy it while you can, it seems that when I turned 50 all of a sudden I had to sleep at night. I miss those nights, and think about going but 830pm rolls around and I'm snoring.

I'm lucky, my dad stuck with it into his late 60's.

The road home was empty. The doughnuts were fresh. The coffee was not, think mountain grown paint thinner. And i had reggae playing on the stereo, with the windows rolled down.

People would kill to do what we do. I'm going to keep at it till I roll off the rocks and float out to sea.

Awesome little write up, paints the picture perfectly!

I didn't get to go(to the inlet) while I was in town, but did sneak out onto an old spot behind some condos in south CB near Patrick(27th south? have to swing around the dock gate) that have lights and got a couple really healthy trout in the 18-24" range(released) on DOA shrimp.

Also had what I thought was a snook, but ended up being the biggest dern lady fish I have ever caught, didn't jump until very end...

Water was clear and some little tumble weeds of grass on the sand, mullet and pinfish under lights, better than my last trip down!
