We saw this guy hanging out at the end of our walkway with a hook, line and sinker in his chest. ------------------------- "Don't count the days, make the days count." -Ali #rydyrstrong

Rule #1 herons beaks are gnar sharp and they can get some torque with that long neck so be careful. If you can get close enough to throw a blanket over it and try to secure its wings close to its body. Cut as much line off as possible and if you can see the hook, try and push it through and cut the bard off with pliers and remove.

I have helped a few birds by capturing them with a cast net. You can work on them while they are encased in the netting. It can be a bitch to release them but having 2 people helps a lot. If they are really injured I will take them to the Florida Wildlife Hospital Map to location of FWH near Melbourne

A few years back, somebody (not sure who) posted on here about beach fishing, and a GBH was waiting for some handouts. As he tossed a fish to it, a pelican flew over to steal it, but the GBH stepped over, and BAM! One shot to the pelican's head, and he dropped it dead. The GBH then took the fish and that was that... ------------------------- GOP: Gaslight Obstruct Project |
