Quick trip to the Carolinas. River fishing with brother.

Mine was a little smaller.

DWL, for the record, since you probably didn't click the video clip, it's a Napoleon Dynamite quote. We threw them all back and ate some kabobs when we got back to the house. ...and for future reference, unless you are intentionally trying to offend someone, I wouldn't be so quick to openly judge a person's social status based upon whether they choose to eat a certain type of fish. It reflects poorly upon your character.

no harm no foul no offense...was just pointing out how it could have been easily perceived in case you weren't trying to.

was such a good experience to drift and angle in under all the cover...stabilizing with a paddle. beautiful river to grow up on and return to with fam. belted kingfishers and great blue herons flying with the boat on the way up ... crickets and frogs the only sound on the drift down...each bank and hole with the promise of a excitement.

Ah river fishing.
My Dad tells a great story about when he
let the boat drift up under the bushes
and a snake dropped into the boat
and my Uncle shot a hole in the bottom of the boat
trying to shoot the snake.
Ah, the peace and quiet of river fishing...

"Ohhhh, man I wish I could go back in time. I'd take state."

Tom, my brother and his wife went for a evening ride recently and a water snake crawled out from under his seat as they were heading back in. He heard her gasp for air and run to the front of the boat. The snake was panicked, trying to get out of the boat. It made a charge for the front where she was, and my brother was able to knock it down with a paddle. My brother then heard a big splash and his wife was in the water. The snake turned and charged my brother. He smacked it down again with the paddle just before he was able to get out and pull the boat to shore. Snake was short and fat. My brother had to put the boat on the trailer for the snake to finally be able to get out and bee-line for the water. Once in the water, the snake turned around, raised it's head up and stared them down. Burly.

When we were fishing, I made sure I didn't go under any real low hanging branches. Only thing we had to deal with were spiders. I did see a bee-hive too, in a tree hole.

Boat stories are the best!

No snakes but:
Family and I were out on the IRL sailing.
Sailboats, you keep the weight (bodies) on the upwind side of the boat for balance.
Dolphin surfaces and starts to run along with the boat and I yell "Dolphin!"
All the kids rush to the downwind side to see the dolphin
and it took me a looong time to get the boat rightside up again.

Mrs. tom was not amused.

Had one of those giant wolfy banana like camel spiders in the boat the other day. You know the ones the size of your hand. I know they say they're harmless, but when it stands up on it's hind legs and charges you when you're trying to help it out of the boat I don't believe it.

Creepy part is I think he rode into the boat on the chair that I carried around from the back of the house the night before.
