(please tell me you released it) I'm going out on my paddleboard before dawn to hunt for a nice tasty slot red in the next few days. Hoping the wind is in my favor and they're hungry for a spook jr or mirrodine. Did you have the gulp under a popping cork?

Why not? I have caught reds this big with a 10lb power pro ...though with a 40lb fluorocarbon leader (his 10lb straight is impressive). All that matters is having the time and space to let the reel and pole do their job in tiring them out. Of course fishing from a dock or something where they can wrap and break you is a different story for persepctive ....the 4 lb test record for tarpon is something like 108lbs. ------------------------- "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians.
