Dive buddy and I have gotten into the habit of always having a line out the back when diving. (it is safer that way...at least if you lose the guys bubbles you have an excuse, "Hey, I was fishing!")
We almost always get a king this time of year and it was no exception. This time though, it happened when I was totally suited up for diving. But the go pro was there to capture our fight in all its glory. I also missed a nice cobia b/c I left the safety on the gun and then shot an 11lb mango. Good day with some sweet music to the video in a few minutes!

Well done!

Like Jonesey1 said, it was a cobia, a large one.If you want to get started in spearfishing, I would start with some freediving off the beach in palmbeach. Pole spears are a great intro weapon. If you want to get a gun, I would go with a MAKO Speargun. I used to shoot Billers, but the mako is a far superior gun. 110cm ETR only 350. It is epic. I shoot the 140 which is too big, kinda a pain in the ass.
