Fished the bait pods off the beach in Indialantic. Tons of bait, but not too much action. I saw a pod make a B line from about 100ft out and then get slammed by something right on shore. I flipped my bait just on the outside of the school and was on in less than 5 seconds. The first run was insane. I thought I was going get spooled with 300yds of 50lb braid. The fish was over 200yds on the first run and I had good pressure on him. After about 25min I landed a 30 - 40lb Jack.
On a side note, I have been making some more vinyl sticker designs. Check them out... www.h2ovinyldesigns.com

The offshore wind might be pushing the bait out a few hundred yards.

Two nights ago there were spanish macks skying on the baits just out of reach with my light tackle gear.  Incoming high tide.  Patrick AFB area.

I threw into a school of Spanish yesterday for about an hour with no hits. I think they're ful because there's so much bait. Frustrating.

the bait is GONE, it was very nice scaled sardines, and thread fin herring, with a blue ton of croaker. I saw macks attack something this evening even hooked one on a jig reeled fast, it was small and got off anyway. This is as of wed evening. Croaker and pumpkin seeds and a few anchovies ( glass minnow) are all I could manage.

Been throwing a spoon in Mel Beach almost every night since Sunday and have picked up Spanish, blues, ladyfish, 2 small cudas and last night caught 3 whiting on the spoon. Didn't make it over tonight, but bait was still pretty thick last night, but Monday was incredible. I also saw 2 big snook cruising last night.

My South Spessard Fishing report

Saturday 4:00pm: 30# Jack on 20# braid and a 4000 reel using a 2 oz silver spoon. Also caught about 5 Spanish, small baracuda, blue runner, and 2 blue fish.

Monday Evening: Lots of bait, only caught 3 Spanish

Tuesday 6:00am: 6 spanish, 1 bonita, and a small Jack

Tuesday 6:00pm: 3 spanish, and 1 ~15 pound bonita caught on the 7/8oz Gotcha lure Crome with pink head and buck tail.  Threw a spoon for an hour and a half and came up with nothing.

I think they are looking for smaller baits, small gold spoons, Gotcha lures, 1/4oz jigs.

Going again tonight...we will see what happens.  Hopefully the bait is still hanging around.

Was at Tampa Ave on Monday n Tuesday. Tons of bait, and lots of big fish.

I was using a jighead w/ Nuclear CHicken on it, and catching whiting on EVERY cast.

My friends were using top water and caught a really large fish (dont remember the name). He fought it for a good 10 - 15 minutes, brought it in, took a few shots n then let it go :-).

THey also caught a 32" snook on Sunday evening off the beach on a spoon.

I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours.
I have been getting them on live feeder mice from the pet store on the outside of the bait pods. Just us a 4/0 Owner circle hook and rubber band the mouse to the hook. Freeline with 50lb Floro.

Rats are to small ferrits with those rubber bands that are used for braces work much better. Only down side is you can't cast em, you have to throw it. Three man sling shot is ideal.
