Paddled out the SUP today from around 11:00 - 3:00 in the Banana River. Caught a 19 inch redfish and 3 trout from 21-23 inches. Not bad for middle of the day fishing.

Thanks Burry. I use my GoPro. Just set it on the SUP and shoot video. Then take still shots from the video.

That's awesome! My girl and I just bought SUPs. Mostly for cruising but i've already taken mine fishing a couple times. For some reason I can't see your images, don't know if it's just the work computer or not, i'll try when i get home. What kind of setup do you have for storing your gear? Where I paddle there is pretty serious wind as well as current, so I definitely need to invest in a 5 lb anchor or else I get blown to land/out to sea in seconds. I plan on strapping a milk crate to the front of my board and keeping gear there while traveling and attaching the anchor to it as well.

Here is a pic of my SUP fishing setup....milk crate, 5 gallon bucket, pvc rod holders, 3 pound dive weight for anchor

Sweet setup! Any particular reason you decided to put the crate on the back instead of front? Unfortunately my board doesn't have attachment plugs, so I have to bungee around the hull to secure anything. What do you use the five gal bucket for? I had planned on just having a pile of stuff in the crate but seeing your method makes me want to push it further. I could bring a cast net and keep live bait in the bucket using a small aerator. That seems like it would use up the whole volume of my milk crate though. I'd need a place to keep the anchor too. Why are your PVC pipes so long? I had planned on 12" at most, just something to secure the rod in the crate. What advantages are to be had with the longer pipes? By the time I rig this thing up it'll be heavier than a loaded kayak! Paddled out to Caldesi island from the Dunedine causeway [to honeymoon island]. Drifted right on top of the several HUGE reds! Biggest I've seen in years of fishing anywhere. WAY over slot size and in 1 ft of water on the edge of some sandbars exposed by an extremely low tide. The overall conditions there are similar to banana and indian river except a lot more current and wind. Saw a ton of dolphins today as well. Didn't bring my gear because I was cruising with the girl after she bought a new paddle, but I think I may go back tomorrow after work and try to get a couple reds. Damn this horrible wind we are having though, makes crossing the channel a drag. edit: for some reason the formatting isn't working and it made my post one big paragraph. Can't seem to fix it...

I put the crate on the back of the SUP because it has the lip of the grip pad to rest against and I also secure it by tying it against the fins.

I usually use the 5 gallon bucket for dry storage, but you could use it to store bait or a cast net.

The PVC rod holders I use are the same ones I have for surf fishing, I just zip tied them to the crate.

LOL. I went out yesterday with a similar setup. Milk crate on the back of my 12' SUP (200L), I had a 5 lb anchor, a casting net in the bucket, 2 rods. It held firm but honestly was very awkward to manuever, especially in the strong winds and current that plague St. Joseph's Sound, which is where I paddle/fish. I honestly had to just cross the sound and park the SUP and just fish from land. I couldn't even reach back to grab the rod without the back end sinking too much for comfort. Next time I will leave the net at home and try to use less bungees. Using 4 around the fin probably didn't help my glide. The board seemed to yaw more than normal and handled poorly in the side chop. I wish we had calm glassy days so I could actually fish from this damn thing! Next time I may just anchor out and fish from the sup wind be damned.
