With the strong steady East winds we have had for the past week i figured i would have to fish on the leeward side of the river to find some clean water.
So using Google maps i look for small paths off A1A to the river to find places to do some wade fishing.

Found one place that look promising and on Google i could see a small marker next to the road that may mark a path!

Here is the entrance.... from the road

a little further along...it opens up a little!

Wide open now!!!

Big enough to drive a truck or motor home on now!

Finally...up ahead...... civilization.....

A motor home...knocked on the door to sea if anyone was home...but no one answered!

at last ...the river and a old dock.....

some trees seem to grow right in the air.

this one must have been hit by lightning but it was still very much alive,

base..

Anyway... it was quite a trek through some 'old Florida' scrub land to do a little fishing.....

water view

and the reward was ...a peaceful morning in the water, and hooking up to 12 Sea trout all one foot long and a really BIG aerial Lady Fish!!!!

Since trout season is closed i bend the barbs down so the fish get released unharmed!!...i hope.....

except the ones the pesky dolphins hang around for!

that is a good spot. that abandon dock and the old van in the woods add a spooky factor. That dock/point is an ambush spot for trout and snook as its somewhat deeper to the south and to the north, a sizable flat to the west into the river, the baitfish will funnel into and under that old dock. Wish the water would clear up.

Sunrise....
The night light in the motor home burned out (in 1975) and since i don't like to sleep in the dark... went home..........

matt_t

do you fish it in a boat?

is it shallow out by the white poles to the South of the dock?

and way to the south it felt like the bottom was covered with tires..kinda felt soft and sponge like...not like muck!?

I have lived in the places to the north of there sice 1995
I have spent. Lot of time wading that area. I usually wade from the place north of there to that dock and back.. Rarely go around the corner south when wading.. Usually no need to. If in a boat. A southeast or east wind will drift you perfectly along the shoreline to that area.

Those old poles are from the days of the clambers.. Marked their areas. Which also may explain the weird bottom. And may explain the old abandon van from the 80s. There are small hard bottom patches I am aware of to the north. I bit deeper sound those poles as you get it quickly becomes ore open water. Just to the north , 50 yds, the flat extends pretty far out.. A more exaggerated contour of the shore

Come back in when mullet are thick, creep to that dock area at dawn or sunset, you can get a nice snook, red or linker gator trout.

Burry, Pm me if you want to come back and park at my place

Fwc has a few maps available. there's a general map a specific seatrout map, that is red and blue which has north and south regions. The other map has northwest, southeast, ect. The regulations dont apply to that map. Hope this helps I wondered the something myself.
