Reds are everywhere in the surf. Over the last 2 weeks myself and Diver doug have caught between 2 and four every day! All of them were over the slot size, with the largest at about 60 lbs. All have been released to get larger! Here is one that a guy on the beach took a picture of the other day, 42 inches. More pics of larger ones to follow!

Doug and I went out yesterday and caught 6 of them, all were over slot size. All between 38 and 50 inches. This is a pic of of a 45 inch one. All of them went back to their home. We caught them all day yesterday, tide or time of day does not matter if you have the right bait!

I got mine on fresh dead shrimp, since I'm lazy and it's a easy bait. But then mine were 12-16 inches.

Firesurfer caught a sea monster.

We went out today and only caught one. The water was pretty dirty, maybe that had something to do with it! It was a little guy at 43 inches and about 45 lbs! Oh yea, we had a small 6 foot black tip shark try to get him about 30 feet from shore, I had to go in and kick it in the side to keep it away, worked great and got him in whole!

I think I said the largest one caught was 50 inches and ABOUT 60 lbs. That is just a guess as we had no scale only a tape measure. Oh yea the largest one caught that I am aware of is 57 inches and 94 lbs. That is documented. So 50 inches and 60 lbs may be an under statement. Do your reasearch before you make stupid comments! Thanks!

Reds don't get much over 50" or 55", they just get FAT. Get a girth measurement. There is a formula somewhere that lets you estimate the weight. I weighed once that was 43" and 40lbs. It's length and girth... just ask your girl.

We went out today and caught 3 large reds, biggest was 45 inches and weighed 36 lbs, This time we brought the fish scale for the weights! We used live finger mullet and free lined them in the surf. They are out there in numbers!

Reds are out in the surf in numbers. We caught six more today all in slot size. Fresh cut mullet was the best bait.
