"Extra 40% off" with SUMMER40 code (posted at the site). The Depactus Aleutian boardshort is worth a look (largely welded construction, stretch, see Depactus) at $22.50 and the Depactus M.E.P. boardshort is a bit fancier at a considerably higher price, $45. Both might be good camo in a kelp forest. They have shirts like that, too. Edited: 09/05/2016 at 04:53 AM by ww |

I scored some good stuff, including those Aleutian boardshorts.
Thanks for posting. ------------------------- "The truth is incontrovertible. malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is." -Sir Winston Churchill |

Thanks. I had a pair of Aleutians, so got an extra. Depactus seems to have well-made stuff. I may have missed something, but Patagonia seems to have dropped their partly-welded Hydro Planing shorts (I think that's the name). 6pm had some leftovers. Maybe Patagonia people trust stitches? Along those lines, conservative made-in-USA Birdwell is selling stretch shorts. |

Sale continues, current code is WHITE30. Some prices seem to have been cut more, especially Depactus. Their top M.E.P. boardshort, mostly welded construction, "full" price $125, now $35. Head High model, $13.64. 6pm has Patagonia's excellent Hydro Planing Stretch Boardshorts, 19" for $25. Various others at similar prices. they make non-stretch comfortable. |

Depactus is cheap now because they are out of business. No longer a company. |

I was guessing as much. There's a thousand ways to fail. Most of the herd of small clothing outfits have some kind of link to specialty sellers or markets (Original Watermen, maybe Greenlines, whose green truck is exactly like one I drove at work). Depactus had distinctive fabric patterns (good shirts) but maybe was too similar to well-established brands, even getting into the techie shorts war. 1 mm long sleeve neoprene top, $35. Good range of sizes. Edited: 09/05/2016 at 04:08 AM by ww |
