This is by far not my first rodeo with skin cancer, but was curious because this was the first time they offered me surgery or radiation as a fix. The spot is on my right shoulder directly on top of the distal end of my clavicle. There is barely any fat under that area, so my concern is, will this be a mess when they cut it out? I go tomorrow to have it cut out but was wondering if anyone has ever gone the radiation route for a basal cell removal? Thinking it may be a better option for this area of the shoulder?

Not to worry, , , , chicks think the scars are all so sexy!!!

I don't think that any of my basals have been dug out very deep; mostly just "scraped", but did get a few cuts.

Got more than a few "cuts" from squamous removals. And, , , , the Melanoma was a 5 incher. I have a total of about 14 inches of skin cancer stitch scars.

Man up, you're pretty enough to make it through a few stitches.

I personally would feel better having it cut out. Getting cut on sucks but at least you know it's gone.

I had a good size one cut out under my left eye. If you want you can always have the plastic surgeon pretty it up for you but if its your shoulder, its probably not an issue. See what the scar turns out and figure out a cool tattoo to incorporate the scar. Then if anyone tells that scars are like tattoos with better stories, you could trump them.

I have plenty of scars from squamous & basal, was just curious why this time they mentioned radiation as an option. They cut it out today & I'm good. I asked my Dr. and he said radiation is always an option although I don't ever remember them mentioning that in the past. Thanks for the replies, Cheers
