I'm getting ready to glue-up some more. 36 inches is my "sweet" spot right now. I do have some longer templates but the woods would be limited. I can also use your template. Available woods are: Brazilian Koa, Cedar, Fir, Red Oak, Oak, Maple, Cherry and Mahogany (I'm out of bamboo right now). These will be pretty sturdy; bonded with waterproof glue and biscuits, around 5/8+ inch thick, sealed with "flooring" grade urethane. Non-slip deck.
See an example below (oak, bamboo, Brazilian Koa, bamboo, oak). The picture is skewed, not the deck. Who wants? ------------------------- Dora Hates You Edited: 03/03/2015 at 05:22 PM by dingpatch |

Got one semi-done. Still need to put a finish with anti-slip on the top (bottom shown). 36 7/16 inches, 7 1/2 inches wide and 5/8+ inch thick. Good and sturdy.
Woods are, from center out: white oak, dark "jungle" wood veneer, fir, Virgin Islands Mahogany, red oak, VI Mahogany. Tail block is black walnut, VI mahogany, bamboo veneer, and Brazilian koa. I'll post better photos when it's done. ------------------------- Dora Hates You |

that looks sick, but I'm asuming it doesnt flex with the biscuits? I was thinking of making one for myself, albeit, with a less fancy wood collection .... what do you use for "non-skid" |

Not much flex, it being a street cruiser for getting from point A to point B. Not intended for "performance". The bamboo ones I did had pretty good flex. The "anti skid" is just the standard coating/paint additive that you can get at Home Depot and/or Lowes.
