The whistleblower is protected against retaliation in the workplace. That's it. Not sure where you guys are hearing otherwise but he isn't guaranteed anonymity and the law does not say that whistleblowers are prohibited from being called to the stand. RS, Sept. 23: Section 7(b) of the Inspector General Act of 1978 (5 U.S.C. App.) provides for the identity of an employee making a complaint, such as a whistleblower, to remain undisclosed to the extent practicable: The Inspector General shall not, after receipt of a complaint or information from an employee, disclose the identity of the employee without the consent of the employee, unless the Inspector General determines such disclosure is unavoidable during the course of the investigation. The IG has not determined such a disclosure to be unavoidable. |

The whistle blower claims have been verified. Getting him/her to testify is just part of the Republican, "Shit, we don't know what to do," dog and pony show. Exactly. What's the difference who it is? The IG has determined it to be a legit WB claim and there is evidence they tried to cover it up at DNI, DOJ and WH. |

What's significant and interesting about the whistleblower is that his (or her) complaint set off a whole series of reactions in the White House and Congress.
There's now plenty of testimony that the phone call and related events were extraordinary, including two career employees who quit their jobs in protest or fear of legal liability. But the whole series of events might have pretty much gone unnoticed and efforts to keep things quiet might have worked but for the whistleblower.
For younger people, it may be fun when Trump's White House records are released, maybe 50 or 75 years after the fact.

To think, the name may have been released by suspected leaker's team after the Media(D) refused to publish it. How ironic. Now that the Impeachment Inquiry has been made official, the Democrats are releasing transcripts of the testimony of the select witnesses that they had gathered and questioned in the very private basement meeting room. One transcript that they claim is "damning" is the testimony of Ambassador William Taylor. On page 236, one unredacted name stands out during the questioning of Ambassador Taylor - Eric Ciaramella. Republican committee lawyer Steve Castor asked Taylor directly if he knew the name Eric Ciaramella, who has been identified by investigative journalist Paul Sperry as the whistleblower. ........... GOOGLE IT, Or just Google Eric Ciaramella... Too much dirt to post here...

This is actually an excellent way to see what crap sources have been filling up SomebodyFish's delicate mind.
I *did* research this story and first off, it's an old tale from back in early November that never grew any legs. So "comes out" a month ago and shits the bed. Here's a google search on the story: http://www.google.com/search?c...s+name+in+transcripts You will see that the #1 source for this story is the bullshit "One America News Network" and even THEY have removed it. - Click the link.. it now 404's. Next up you have the prestigious Daily Wire.. again back on November 7th. Followed by the ever so credible RedState.com and Washington Examiner. After that the google searchresults pitter out into other topics. No credible sources, and not even enough to populate an entire Google search page. What a "BOMBSHELL!!!!!!!!!" In fact, it is such a BOMBSHELL!!!!!!!!! that even FOX News didn't report on it. Game Changer!! Democrats want to prevent Ciaramella from testifying under oath before lawmakers, because their entire case depends on his credibility as a true whistleblower. Once the American people are presented with Ciaramella's work history, his associations and his activities during the 2016 election and beyond, he will have zero credibility and voters will see for themselves that once again, the Democrats, rather than the Republicans, have tried to subvert the U.S. system of justice...
