The GOP are now admitting that their was a quid pro quo but now they claim that such a request from the President is not impeachable. Some republicans are still saying there was no quid pro quo while others are saying there was but there's nothing wrong with that. They have suffered a backlash from trying to kill the messenger in the form of the slander against the decorated war veteran who provided first hand information of the call.
The reality is that the GOP is turning a blind eye to clearly criminal behavior. Instead of condemning it and using the same standards that they inflict on everyone but themselves, they are now "transactional." This is like when you catch your spouse cheating on you and instead of acknowledging it, addressing and doing something about it, you decide to have an "open" marriage. They attacked the "procedure" and that really didn't work, so I wonder what flimsy angle they will take next? Trump asked for foreign help and dangled the money carrot in front of them, which is illegal according to the Constitution. Republicans don't care, but I guess we shall see what the voting public thinks come 2020.
