I'm not accusing the Democrats of being racists. However, I am saying that throughout the history of this country, Democrats have based their positions on where they thought popular opinion was, instead of standing on principle. This has left them on the wrong side of history when it comes to slavery, women's suffrage, a racially integrated society, the KKK, and putting the Japanese in internment camps. Maintain the power by any means necessary. When blacks couldn't vote, they were anti-black. When women couldn't vote they were anti-women. As soon as they become a voting block, the Democrats pucker up to the backsides of any group. I other words, the Democratic party is democratic? Damn, I'll alert the press. Meanwhile, in this century, the GOP has decided to be the party of the far right ethnofascists. The torchlight parades, the "proud boys", all gop and trumpists. There's no denying that. There's a good reason you guys shit your pants about Antifa. Good thing for me that this comic book battle you are all fired up about includes less than 1% of the country on either side. You want to paint all Republicans as racists. Hell, many Democrats want people to feel hesitant to display any patriotism at all. I take that back, they are okay with anyone being patriotic towards any country except the United States. That is entirely too spicy for the left. Look at the candidates in the Democrat primary. It sounds like a competition as to who hates America the most. Sorry, Rusty but this just isn't reality. Seems to me you have your own reality. I'm not a Democrat, and I don't care to "paint" Republicans as anything. Their behavior speaks for itself. Patriotism is nothing but nationalism, and I'm not interested in it. I don't care if you want to stand, jump, kneel, or sit and spin when the flag goes by. The only flag that means something to me is the red and black one. ------------------------- Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system. Antifa much? Anarcho-socialist actually. But certainly antifascist. ------------------------- Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system. The more they lose, the more violent and desperate they will become.
Just wait until Ginsburg kicks the bucket. You are going to see crazy in full effect. Rusty, good luck finding some fascists to hate. The way people talk, they should be everywhere but then you step away from the computer and go outside and everything's nice. No fascists in sight. ------------------------- "The government who robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul," - George Bernard Shaw “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f—k things up.” - Barack Obama “End of quote. Repeat the line.” - wise words from Joe Biden |

The more who lose? Out of the last four GOP presidential victories two were with a minority of Americans. In case sniper didn't notice the GOP is white, old, and largely male. That ain't exactly a recipe for continued "winning".
Oh and as for change it wasn't long ago women couldn't get and abortion, gay people couldn't get married, pot was illegal, and black people had to sit in the back of the bus. Society is changing whether the crusty old geezers like it or not. Edited: 09/17/2019 at 11:38 AM by Greensleeves |

[Goes outside] [Looks around] Yup, no fascists on my street. Planning to keep it that way. But I think you have it wrong. The violence will come if trump loses, and then tries to invalidate the election, calling for the military and police to support him remaining in office. Now that's when things get hot. ------------------------- Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system. This page gives part of an important address to the Florida legislature as secession was being discussed, and links to more details. Southern slavery at the time was a huge deal economically, and the big slave owners were sure that a system based on slave labor was better than one based on free labor, in part because it was a bad idea to let workers vote.
