No, definitely not better. Democratic socialism is the only system which can sustain a just society into the future. Capitalism is dying and taking the planet with it, and neo-liberals are rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

i said socialism. not democratic socialism. the two are not the same thing. people confusing the two and using them interchangeably has been part of the problem with selling it. just helping the cons when doing so. anyhow, i can jump on board with many of those ideas. others not so much. depends which we are talking about. dont buy into all or nothing politics. it is stupid

Democratic socialism (not to be confused with social democracy) is very much socialism, it's just the version with popular participation.

Of course people confuse all these concepts of political economy. Some through ignorance and some intentionally (such as trumpablo).

To put democratic in front of socialism is just to give the false impression that the people would still be in control. It's also a falsehood there would, or could ever be wide spread popular participation. History has shown socialism rapidly degrades to the point where those in control must use force to enforce their ideals, and not necessarily those of the people. Their well being will also always come before that of the people, and with tha those in control will resort to anything to maintain that control. At this point he people truly become ruled instead of governed. The natural progression from there can only be that force soon becomes oppression and eventually all out tyranny. You may believe socialism will work here with the most diverse population on the planet, but do you truly appreciate the cost of that experiment's failure? Because by all logic it will fail.

Then explain Europe.

All socialism purports to be democratic, but it's not. did you know that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is commonly known as N. Korea? Socialist are well known liars. They have to be to get the gullible to buy what they are selling. Doubt many would sign up to being put into a gulag or death camp.
