I heard something the other day that pretty much summed up how I felt about straws in general.

Can't remember who said it but the guy was buying a drink and was asked if he needed a straw with his drink. He replied by saying he did not. The employee of the establishment complimented him on his commitment to the environment and the patron responded by saying, "yeah, I guess there's that.....and I'm not a fucking toddler".

I don't use them because I just don't like them. Never have. I get annoyed when places assume I need one and give me one because even if I don't use it, I know that the one they tried to give me is getting thrown away.

This is straw thing is another diversion-drama that's been getting pushed on social media by the Trumpservatives, Russia LOL, etc.

Its stupid.

The truth is:

Plastic straws make a ton of litter, are bad for the ocean/environment.. TRUE.

Paper straws feel weird and get soggy after awhile TRUE

The solution is disposable grass/reed/bamboo straws

They use them all over Costa Rica- they work great, feel great, don't get soggy- are renewable and biodegradable.

They are cheap and readily available on Amazon.

You will eventually see them in America too, once all the crybabies get off Twitter and spend some time actually researching a real solution rather than swordfighting with each other's dicks

I heard some guy whining that he moved from Cali to get away from this shit, after being given a paper straw at a place on the water.

They make straws from vegi based "plasitic" and they look and feel exactly like regular plastic straws.

Disney did away with straws years ago, I'm surprised the right snowflakes didn't boycott them.
