From the freightwaves article, great site for any interested in transportation: freightwaves article
"The growing movement to end plastic pollution and ban single-use plastics poses a significant risk to the petroleum and petrochemical industries. The International Energy Agency estimated that the petrochemical industry will account for one third of global oil demand growth to 2030, about 3.2 million barrels per day, but now with push backs and regulation those very big numbers are beginning to tremble." Kind of sucks though as the fracking technology the US developed is still proprietary, and has allowed the US to jump to the forefront of oil production, and we may be number 1 in ten years...... What came first the demand for oil or the demand for single use plastics!? ------------------------- I troll 2L.com to be a better person in real life Edited: 06/17/2019 at 05:12 AM by stokedpanda |
