Is it illegal to seek asylum? Should we start locking people up in overcrowded prisons, indefinitely, without a trial, for speeding? Undocumented immigration is a minor civil infraction. Give them a citation and a court date and let them go, unless there is evidence an individual has a dangerous criminal history or is a security risk. Is it illegal to shut down our failed immigration system and only let in the ones we want...vetted and medically and psychologically checked out? I meant that it doesn't bother me a bit. It is exactly what should happen to them. Also, it most likely doesn't bother you a bit (it certainly didn't warrant any outrage when it was happening under Obama). You guys are merely using this as yet another way to hit at Trump. It was happening under Obama and Bush, all stemming from an overreaction to 9/11. But Trump has taken it to an extreme with intentional family separations and checkpoints across the country. The most disturbing part of the article talks about how hard it is to undo this, citing how it wasn't possible to close Gitmo.
