He has no chance to get the dem nomination this time around either. He shot his wad last time. He will go down as a 2 time loser. Personally, I think he should run as a third party candidate.

Yes Bernie is a turncoat and now will be irrelevant. His past voters are sure to find more appealing persons in the large field.

The nice part is that voters are energized against Twitler and will vote for whomever is standing at coronation. They did not realize what a complete dumpster fire he is back in 2016.

Bernie the dem socialist is no "turncoat", and there's no one representing the real left among the current Dem pool.

Up against the Dem party machine, Bernie will probably be overcome by the center right choice of the party cabal, under an illusion of popular democracy.

Half the left will stay home, a few will vote for damage control, and it will be a toss up.

If Mueller doesn't have hard evidence that trump personally knew about the conspiracy with Russia and other foreign nationals to help him get elected, and the economy stays in positive territory, he might get away with a re-election with his 38% base.

If the economy tanks, or Mueller has the goods on him then he's done.

Oh and calling Bernie a "communist" betrays either a lack of knowledge or malicious intent.

you keep hard selling democrats as center right. again, not true by any standards other than your own personal. the far left is not the left, no matter how much you want it to be. it is an extreme.

Democrats are entirely center right neo-liberals, that's not my opinion, that's a fact. They support capitalism, they support an aggressive foreign policy, and they mix in some support for labor as long as it doesn't threaten the economic interests that fund them as well as the Republicans.

"Left" involves public ownership of the means of production, and the only one who comes close is Bernie, and it's still pretty watered down. Far left would be appropriation of private property in the public interest.
I'm not sure you've got a good grasp of the spectrum Riddle, and that's not intended as an insult.

I was a social democrat and I thought it was "left" until I did some reading and met some people on the "real" left. Now if you allow guys like Tpap to define your terms, then sure, anyone "left" of Idi Amin is a "leftist".

Then you're pretty much looking at center-right. That's fine, it's pretty much the what you'll see on TV and that's who shows up to vote for the most part.

But when these chuds start calling neo-lib dems "left", it's just a smear tactic.

He's labeling Bernie as a communist because he's threatened by Bernie as a socialist.

Meghan McCain Warns 'Don't Underestimate' Bernie Sanders: He's 'Truly Formidable'

Meghan McCain says 'don't underestimate' Bernie Sanders: He's 'truly formidable'

Now that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is officially in the running for 2020, Meghan McCain is warning voters not to overlook his potential to win the election.

"The thing I will say about him is don't underestimate him," the "View" co-host said Tuesday, citing his 2016 sweep of New Hampshire and his success in taking nearly half of Iowa - the first two primary states, which will be important targets for candidates.

"This time there are no superdelegates to come against him at the convention like what happened before," McCain added, referring to the Democratic National Committee's rule change last year that stripped superdelegates of much of their power in deciding the party's nominee.

Weighing Sanders' chances, McCain called him "a truly formidable candidate," arguing that "he's still the original, with all the socialist disciples coming up after him."

"He's the most popular politician in the country right now," she added

According to a January ?Morning Consult survey of registered voters, McCain is right. For the 11th consecutive time, the quarterly poll had Sanders as the senator with the highest approval rating in his or her state, with 64 percent of Vermonters approving of his performance. Another declared presidential candidate, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), isn't far behind, coming in sixth place with a 58 percent approval rating.

Sanders announced his candidacy Tuesday, first on Vermont Public Radio, then in an interview with CBS News in which he denounced Trump as "a racist who is a sexist, who is a xenophobe," vowing that his campaign would mirror the progressive themes of his 2016 run.

Bernie could be elected in a huge surprise that most in the gop and many in the Democratic Party would not see coming until it rolled over them, kind of like trump did and largely for the same reasons. There's an element of vandalism aimed at the status quo, there's a huge trump backlash and there's a desire to inflict a candidate on the trumpists that punish them. Like I said all of the same intentions and dynamics that propelled a self dealing neophyte conman to our highest office. The price tag for Bernie's ideas will the equivalent of trump's tax returns. Only the opposition will care.

The Dem establishment would hit the self destruct button. The party bosses have more in common with the old gop than they do Bernie and AOC.

Still, the rules change could come back and bite the Dems on the ass in any case. There are those who are going to absolutely love it if Bernie does end up "on top" of the Dems at the Convention and the Party leadership does not want him.

Good, I have a zillion choices. May the best man or woman win.

Man or woman, that's something you don't hear in the Republican party.
