Total BS.
Yes, it is everybody's right to protest. BUT not at work. You kinda, sorta, have to do what the boss tells you to do. But, I guess that that is a hard concept for a lot of people to get their heads around. ------------------------- Dora Hates You |

The US courts disagree with your line of thinking.

Does your title "Guilty of Collusion" have a basis in fact? The NFL might have just offered money to make the issue go away. There is a gag order on both parties, afaik, so we may never know whether there was collusion, and if so, among whom.

I always thought he was a bit overrated (great run to the SB though) so I didnt give it much thought...... BUT after seeing some of the JOKERS some teams trotted out at QB the past 2 seasons that made Kapernick look like John Elway , gave creedence to the theory...... Just like the concussion settlement, they threw $$$$ at it to make it go away before the truth was revealed

The rich white guys didn't think they'd win evidently. Check the 49ers post Kaep and Harbaugh they went to $hit. Plan B is right of course.

sure they colluded, no doubt about it. i can still see their side of it though. every other job in the country pretty much would fire you for political protesting at work, more so when it hurts the image of the brand in the eyes of half the consumers. nfl getting what they deserve for not having both the balls and competency to handle the situation correctly.

The NFL's handling of the CTE issue shows they have no values whatsoever. That's what makes their "stand" on kneeling so laughable. Don't think the owners are these wonderful patriots! Prior to 2009 teams weren't standing on the filed for the anthem. Paid patriotism. If they got more money to have players knell they'd try to get them to do so.
At least Kaep has the stones to do what he thinks is right. Some of y'all scared to speak your values at work? Gnarly. |

speaking values is one thing. protesting at work another. dont equate the two. as an example we have an afb and space center full of people that cant do that at work. not so gnarly or odd

It would be interesting to see the facts made public on this one. Collusion requires cooperation between two or more parties. I don't see any reason one team/owner/coach would collude with another to keep Kaep off the field. It would have had to involve NFL corporate execs putting that pressure on multiple teams/owners/coaches, and in that case, would warrant huge damages. I think part of it was the NFL's insistence that Kaep's protests did not hurt the brand or affect TV ratings. As a for-profit entity, the only reason that would have to collude against Kaep would be his impact on profits (present and future). Kaep had said he wouldn't accept a settlement unless it was "significant," but if the NFL were guilty, they either found Kaep's $ threshold or knew it would be cheaper to settle. Kaep may have settled because there was no way to produce evidence that would win his case. If he had real dirt on the NFL, it would have done a lot more good to press on and expose it.

Are there any other "jobs" where one would be required to stand for the anthem?
------------------------- "I remember South Africa in the late 70's, sleeping on the beach at J-bay, smoking ganja with the blacks. On weekends we'd go to the pub in East London to drink beer and fight with the Afrikaners. They liked to fight, I liked to fight. It was a good time" |
