There's a show on Netflix called Leaf of Faith.
It's about pain and the opioid crisis.
The "host" is one in a family of power lifters who fugged himself up hoisting up record weights. He got hook and then found Kratom.
My wife has Arthritis and Fibromialgia. Late last century, her doc sent her to pain management who put her and others on heavy pain killers. She noticed that she was having a problem and asked him to change her 'script t methadone. Little by little she cut her dosage in half until she was off it. Shortly after, the doc got in trouble and had to close down because patients were dying. Didn't get arrested, just had to stop for a couple years.
My wifey recently got some and she helps a lot. Probably more if she took more, only one at a time.
Fla had made it a schedule 1 narcotic, but after white people bum rushed their representatives, they legalized it.
My joints ache due to years of winter surfing. I take one before bed. I get a good buzz and and my schitt quits hurting.

There is a Kratom bar down the road from my house. We stopped in to check it out one evening, and it was really nice inside. I forget what it was we ordered, but it was 2 drinks, both tasted like ass, but I got a great night sleep that night. 'Bartender' told us, it helped him and his wife get off of opioids.

That's what the guy in the video said. No wonder THEY tried to make it illegal It's grown in Indo and they had a Kratom "expert" saying it'll do much more for you. That WE were doing it all wrong. I wouldn't recommend driving on it. It has a sweet buzz.

I stop at a gas station in the middle of nowhere on my way across the state sometimes and noticed that they were selling a bag of Kratom about the size of a small bag of sugar, it is in a powder form, for $89.99 right next to their wall of lighters, crack pipes, blunt wrappers, and beef jerky.

Are you telling me this stuff is as powerful as a mild form of methadone and you can buy it over the counter in an s-hole gas station?

I've only had it the one time and it was already mixed up into the concoctions; the first drink was in a shot glass and the second was taller long island ice t style glass. Both tasted very organic, like old tea. I didn't get a buzz so to speak, but I did sleep well that night.

It's a root of some sort (I think), so there's really no comparison (chemically) to methadone, that's probably why there's little regulation on who can sell the stuff. If it helps people get off of those effing pills and needles, more power to them!

We got ours from an on line Fla sanctioned distributor. Capsules. I have a fugged up foot from being stabbed by my fin during Gloria. Got gangrene and had a muscle and artery removed. As I get older, it aches at night. I take one capsule and pains gone.

Kratom is like a coffee plant. Ours is PurKratom from Herbal Products. They say the serving size is five. I haven't taken more than one. YET!

It said that 7 out of the 91 had only Kratom in their system. But what they don't say is how many died or had to go into rehab from the "Legal" pain management drugs like the ones in my wife's Docs practice.

It's controversial, not much known about interactions or long term effects. I'd to see more real research.

Certainly a promising alternative to opioids.

Where is all the profit going to come from if people kick opioids?

Like rusty said, they need to do a fact based study, the idea that people die with it in their systems along with other shit that will truly kill you means nothing.

No, it means something. Very little reputable science on this. You are being a guinea pig if you take it. I will stick to the tried and true - beer.

An article. Actually, all progs should be using it. Maybe up the dose a bit. Seriously though, you don't know what you might be doing to yourself when you take this stuff.

I have seen this keep people off of opioids in real world situations.

Outlawing it will create serious repercussions.
