KFC Killer's cholesterol doesn't fly across the room and kill a school full of kindergarteners.

So nice shooting to the armed citizen that got him, but didn't the shooter come in, shoot 3 people, then leave?

The citizen came out after him and shot him as he was escaping?

OK, no love lost for the bad guy, but the armed citizen didn't stop anything but the guy's escape, right?

By and large the proliferation of firearms, especially hand guns and CCW with no training required, makes life in America much more dangerous.

Totally agree with you, RT.  Sounds like a stand up guy who did the best he could in the situation.  But, it was after the fact that he killed people and was escaping.

Check out how Fox worded it on their webpage...technically correct, but  designed to confuse or mislead the average Fox fan:

"Man opens fire inside Oklahoma restaurant before 'armed citizen' shoots, kills him, police say"

The "armed" citizens both had to go outside and get a gun out of the car first.

Yet they were still technically the first responders. Nice work on their part.

5,645 if you count the bad guy today.

Expensive trial and incarceration avoided to boot.

Does this justify the recent rash of school shootings?

Is this how it's supposed to work?

Justify school shootings? Your question is off the deep end Cole. Nothing justifies school shootings.

If we want to stop school shootings *now*, then we need to make our schools secure. Right now they are a soft target and easy pickings and ripe for violence because we have young people that have been raised soft and weak by their parents in a society that promotes gun culture and who are unable to cope with problems.

Culture doesn't change over night, people don't become stronger over night, and guns will not be removed from circulation over night. What we can do while passing better firearm laws, waiting for the impact, and changing culture that will take time to have impact is secure the schools for immediate impact. Unfortunately we have too many people who think it is impossible to secure schools and pay for it, while at the same time think it is possible to pass gun laws, get them off the streets, and pay for it in a timely enough manner to stop shootings. It is madness.

We need partisan action and to go at this from multiple angles for both immediate and lasting impact, but the cons keep wanting to play their NRA games while the libs are too busy hurling insults and making enemies. At some point, the bodies will pile up high enough that people will stop their tribal nonsense and come together, but judging by what I see in Washington, in the general population, and even in this tiny little microcosm of our forum..... we are a long long way from that.

The right doesn't want gun laws. The left doesn't want secure schools. Insanity

Wouldn't it be nice if the argument was truly as binary as you make it to be...
