Actually had one of them tell me in a real life discussion about the Parkland school shooting that the police should be private so that they couldn't be part of the corrupt government.

Apparently only the elected government can be corrupt and not multinational corporations that have more assets than a majority of nation states. 

Maybe that's what they mean by wanting to bring back coal. They long for the days of living and working in a company owned town and getting payed only in company scrip and being subject to the company's private police force.
