How did the Democrats cheat? By not voting for an insurgent that wouldn't even join the party. I don't think Bernie would have won. Plenty would have been just as willing to believe the lies slung about him as they were those spread about Hillary.

Veteran Democratic operative Donna Brazile finally admitted that she used her former position as a CNN commentator to relay questions ahead of debates to Hillary Clinton during the Democratic primary.

Hillary Clinton's campaign took over the Democratic National Committee's funding and day-to-day operations early in the primary season and may have used that power to undermine her rival Senator Bernie Sanders, according to the party's one-time interim chairwoman. The DNC official, Donna Brazile, now a political analyst, wrote in Politico Magazine on Thursday that she discovered an August 2015 agreement between the national committee and Clinton's campaign and fundraising arm that gave Clinton "control (of) the party's finances, strategy, and all the money raised" in exchange for taking care of the massive debt leftover from President Barack Obama's 2012 campaign. It wasn't illegal, Brazile said, "but it sure looked unethical."

Here's a couple of upstanding Clinton tactics. I'm pretty sure there is lots more out there.

We can rant about millennials till the cows come home and it won't matter in the least.

Time will kill all of us and they will run the country.

The beauty is the fact that they hate Trump and the current Republicans, so once they get used to voting, Democrats will have a long, long run in charge. I'll take European socialists over Fascist pricks any day.

You forgot one problem with that....idiot!

While young they are pretty brainless.

That's exactly what you prog liberal commies prey on!

They get older and smarten up.

That's where you are screwed.

I'm considerably smarter than you and I've had the same political convictions for more than 30 years.

Millennials:

They don't care that gays get married.

They don't care if Trans people have their own bathroom.

The aren't religious.

They understand personal rights afforded by the Constitution.

They are more inclusive when it comes to race.

Basically, they are polar opposites of you Trumpublicans and in time, they will make the rules.

I totally agree on term limits being necessary, and that Citizens United should be overturned.

I'm gonna throw a Balanced Budget amendment into this thread as well, as something essential to a stable democracy. One of the benefits of a BB is that you can't kick the can down the road with deficits (and buying votes via unsustainable benefits) that will supposedly be paid back in the future. That means all budget votes relate to the "here and now" and it's easier to hold politicians accountable.

Well most of the ranting isn't about millennials despite it being the topic of the link, it is about our broken ass government. Sadly, Democrats aren't the solution either because they too are bought and paid for. It doesn't matter if you vote D or R because when you do, you are only voting for the status quo.

If you question democracy then just look at Singapore and you will question it even more.

Well party loyalty is just more tribalism. Vote for the candidate who best represents your values, and don't worry about party.

It just so happens for most contests the Dem aligns more closely with my values. But as a party, if they don't ouste the Pelosi-Schumer-Schultz types they can't expect to win just on being anti-trump.

Here is the OBX solution to achieve a government run by it's people, and not the other way around:

  1. Term limits no more that 4yrs. (maybe 8)
  2. The populace votes on 3 candidates to represent them for the House. 1 candidate is the incumbent (if he hasn't served more than 4 or 8yrs), and the other two are randomly selected from the populace.
  3. To be on the list for random selection, you must meet a certain criteria  For example:
  4. Legal Citizen
  5. Non-felon
  6. minimal of a HS diploma (or equivalent)
  7. Once someone is selected, they undergo a background check, (similar to what is done to obtain a TS clearance).
  8. There is a monetary cap on donations/funds for campaigning, once selected.
  9. While serving, they draw a salary that is agreed upon by the populace that is no more, or no less than the lowest/highest income of the randomly selected person. (or within a standard deviation of the median).
  10. If you are not doing your job as a congressmen, you are not paid.

If I am not mistaken, Greece (or Rome) randomly selected people to serve in the House. Their Congress comprised of farmers, blacksmiths, generals, doctors, etc... Truly, a government of the people.

Oh yea, Rusty, Cole, WG, and anyone else infected with libtardism are forbidden for consideration.......

I can't tell if that's a parody actual thinking.
Or if there is a difference that matters.

Democracy sucks.  It sucks even more when a nation practicing it is run by two corrupt, lying and stealing policial parties looking to use your own tax dollars to buy your vote, all while attempting to exert their control over you.  The eventaul result is always tyranny.

Long live the Republic

"However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion."

The majority of population is unhappy with congress, yet they continue to vote for the very same people they claim are doing a poor job.

If you don't like what they do, stop putting them in the majority.
