Coleslaw is a complete blithering IDIOT! He just cant stop lying his ass off! ">http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11...family.html http://fas.org/blogs/secrecy/2...earances-presidential/ Bullshit! There are 40 people operating close to the president in the west wing on a regular basis without security clearances. The NYT article you posted was speculative and from prior to stepping into the Oval Office. A lot has changed: The Washington Post reports yesterday that Trump doesn't read his secret briefings - Kushner does, totally contrary to last November. The blog you posted says the president has discretion to waive clearances - but for 40 key West Wing players? I call foul. We must insist on better. Edited: 02/12/2018 at 03:03 PM by follydude |

Seems pretty shaky to say the least. But then again, the POTUS is the final word on "clearance".
Even though, he is a civilian himself and Has Not Been Cleared. ------------------------- Dora Hates You |

The blog you posted says the president has discretion to waive clearances - but for 40 key West Wing players? I call foul. We must insist on better. YO....NUMBNUTS! ""The president can authorize clearance for anyone he wants," said Steven Aftergood, director of the project on government secrecy at the Federation of American Scientists. "It's part of his commander-in-chief role. He has broad, essentially unlimited, access in this area." Like anyone else, Mr. Kushner would be subject to a background check by the F.B.I. But the president's authority is so broad, Mr. Aftergood said, that he could override red flags - like fraud, huge personal debt or ties to foreign governments - that would disqualify other applicants." ------------------------- The REAL truth is....both of the forum idiots are OWNED. -BOTH of them have no clue who their owner is. -They are both card carrying narcissists. ^These are PROVED facts. |

That's the problem with this administration summed up: just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Does your new hire advise the President of the United States and/or control the information that the President of the United States receives on a daily basis? Didn't think so. We have a problem with this situation that is not at all similar to your job, but thanks for trying to defend your hero. MAGA! |

You would think. 18 months in and my new hire still doesn't have his clearance. Does your new hire advise the President of the United States and/or control the information that the President of the United States receives on a daily basis? Didn't think so. We have a problem with this situation that is not at all similar to your job, but thanks for trying to defend your hero. MAGA! Yo fruitloops! Trump is legally allowed to do as he pleases with his staff. If you don't like it...TOUGH SHIT! ------------------------- The REAL truth is....both of the forum idiots are OWNED. -BOTH of them have no clue who their owner is. -They are both card carrying narcissists. ^These are PROVED facts. |

Hey dickface, I didn't vote for Trump and I think he is a clown, complete with little "car". What is up with some of you wingnuts that automatically think anything said that doesn't 100% fall in line with your thoughts means you are completely on the opposite pole? It was fuckkng stupid when FK did it regarding Obama and it is stupid when you and others do it about Trump. Think about that for a second. |

FWIW - My understanding is that the POTUS is the final authority and can grant access to information to anyone he wants and is not in violation of any laws. Not the smart thing to do though....

He is worse at this than even I thought he would be..
Total amateur hour. Staff quitting, fired or getting arrested constantly - there's more drama surrounding that crew than an Appalachian Emergency Room episode of Cops. The joke Obama made about a hot tub on the front lawn of the Whitehouse turned out to be true LOL Thank god I dont have to defend that turd all day to save face... must be a unique form of self delusion trying to make yourself believe anyone takes him seriously at this point It has been alot of fun watching him F everything up.. turns out his "presidency" has been a hoot, really. But we all know the really fun part has yet to come.. ------------------------- When America was "great" |

FWIW - My understanding is that the POTUS is the final authority and can grant access to information to anyone he wants and is not in violation of any laws. Not the smart thing to do though.... He can declassify information, he can't grant clearance to people. I don't think anyone ever thought there would need to be laws on common sense things like this. ------------------------- Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system. In biology, such behavior of cells is called "cancer". |

No.
He doesn't have to declassify information to grant someone access to it. That is silly. |

The man had a high level meeting with Abe in a crowded restaurant and ratted out top secret information to Russians in the White House.

------------------------- "I remember South Africa in the late 70's, sleeping on the beach at J-bay, smoking ganja with the blacks. On weekends we'd go to the pub in East London to drink beer and fight with the Afrikaners. They liked to fight, I liked to fight. It was a good time" |
