California State lawmakers have proposed increasing taxes on buisinesses making >$1M to collect 1/2 of their their tax reductions from the Gop tax bill. While its admarable to do so in the name of benefiting of lower income families, its a fallacy to think such a state windfall would find its way thru the state's bloated governemnt to those that need it. Instead it will have very negative and fairly obvious outcomes. It will start to drive out larger corporations and their jobs out of the state. It will also encouage more leaching from the state which is already approaching an unsustainable level. It will more than likely bloat the state government even more too. Ultimately state revinue will decrease while its costs increase. It will then only be a matter of time before that forces higher income tax rates further compounding the problem. Let's watch and see if common sense prevails, or if they pull the lever and flush the state down the drain. |

Not really. They're ephed up too, but in a differnt way. Their troubles also aren't quite as chronic as Cali's and their prognosis is not as bad. Why do you try to change the subject? |

Yep, removing the deduction for state income taxes was one of the more punitive parts of the tax bill. What a bunch of aholes! ------------------------- "I remember South Africa in the late 70's, sleeping on the beach at J-bay, smoking ganja with the blacks. On weekends we'd go to the pub in East London to drink beer and fight with the Afrikaners. They liked to fight, I liked to fight. It was a good time" |

World's 6th largest economy... State's rights boys....
------------------------- Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system. In biology, such behavior of cells is called "cancer". |
