Anyone have a positive story about Insurance company payments or service?

We have State run Citizens and they seem to be dragging their feet, opposing factual claims.

I had to go back and forth with them after Matthew.

They responded quickily but super lowballed everything, and I wasnt going to accept their first offer despite them saying "ammendments can be made as we move forward".  All said and done, it took me about 4 months to get my $ (including some BS from the bank/ mortgage holder).

Granted this was a signifigant flood claim (FEMA backed through First Fidelity), so not sure if it's the same, and I'm sure Irma having more widespread damage following Harvey is making them drag their fet even more

I was right.

I've got Federal National. The adjuster (who was independant) had to come out twice because she lost some pictures. But thats it. I got the check to replace my roof approx 2weeks after she came out.

You know, I had minor stuff too. Back porch flooded, had to replace carpet. Portions of my fence blew down, and a couple shingles missing from my roof. All the while I was working on this stuff, my wife was nagging me as to why I just don't file a claim. So, I get fed up and did so.

Those three missing shingles got me a whole new roof.

 

I had a big tree come down and punch a hole in the roof of my Orlando house.
The insurance company sent an adjuster about a month later, and his estimate for repair was of course, just below my deductible.

Curious that you are still on citizens. They have been aggressively pushing people off and the takers are offering much lower rates.
